  I have the faith that things will be ok when I die. I don't want that to happen any time soon, but when it does, I am confident that there is a heavenly hope.

  Was John Denver the Anti-Christ?

  when i was a kid in the seattle area in the late '70's, i heard this rumor told many times: before all his concerts, john denver would ask if there were any jehovah's witnesses present, and then ask them all to leave(of course whoever was telling the story knew of someone who had experienced this first hand).

  also, johnny carson confronted him about it on the tonight show once(carson often figured into the jw/celebrity rumours i heard as a kid), and when denver admitted that it was true, johnny asked him to leave.

  apparently, several witnesses worked on his show and this greatly offended him.

  I heard the rumours as well, when I was a kid. My understanding at the time was Denver was very patriotic, and being witnesses are not, that was his reason for not liking them.

  Who knows what he did or didn't think. He was much more about peace than anything else.

  I did go to his last concert tour, very enjoyable, and the witnesses were never brought up in any way shape or form. And he had 2 1/2 hours to do so if he really wanted to.

  "We Are NEVER on Vacation from Jehovah"

  often, this very "reminder" was in the kingdom ministry.

  As a family growing up, we rarely went on vacations. When we did, I do remember hitting the local meeting. That just was the ultimate insult to a perfectly good vacation.

  As an adult, there was no way in hell I was going to look up and go to the meeting wherever I was. No way.

  Internet Dating......has anybody tried it?

  well seeing as my social skills are severly limited or it's just really really hard to meet women i thought i'd get everybody's opinion on "netdating".

  i think it's worth a shot, i think it gives you an opportunity to meet people that you'd never meet in the real world, well it's 2 am and i'm bored, i guess i'd better hit the sack now

  I believe that many witnesses are honest, but no more than any other zealous religious type person. They are no where near what they claim to be.

  Either a person is moral, or they are not. Doesn't matter what religion, and many athiests are moral people, and are honest. Just because a person is a JW makes them no more better than anyone else.

  I have met many witnesses in the business world that are flat our liers, and cheaters, and would stab you in the back in a second.

  Elders will not marry couple

  my mother has a friend in another congregation.

  she has been dating, and is wanting to marry.

  here's where the "problem" comes in.... the guy is 20, she is 33. the elders have decided that they should interfere.

  I had an employee get back on meth after they had quit. It is bad news, to say the least. His life started crumbling around him.

  I personally would insist that my mate got help, if they were taking it. Thankfully my wife has no desire whatsoever to try any drug.
