I agree Metatron. Working it like that will accomplish more; people will be ready to listen.

XJWS! Remember your Training, Please!
by metatron ini read so many sad stories on this board about folks who suddenly realize that the.
watchtower is a corrupt cult and then try to bombard their loyal relatives with information.
about the un, the blood fraud, molesters, etc.. big mistake!

Valis-
It sucks that we all were caught in this religion. Just remember where they are coming from, and what they have been taught. Stay the bigger person, and hopefully one day, even if they don't leave the organization, maybe they will relax, and you can have the family that you want and deserve.

I think fear is a huge factor for some. They find themselves in a situation like you described, and what are they to do?
Others, have a snotty attitude that I think sucks, and who cares about them.
For still others, they still care/ love those who have left or kicked out, they just are controlled by the organization and are fearful of what they don't know.

Will There Be A Final Issue?
by Stephanus inwhat i mean is, we keep seeing new issues emerge which highlight the hypocrisy, and some cases, the downright evil of the wathctower org, such as their fartarsing around with the blood doctrine, the un ngo scandal, ownership of shares in arms manufacturers, the paedophile cover-ups and associating with other religions in order to band together to secure continued "freedom of religion" from worldly governments.
will this steady flow of emabarrassing info about what they are truly about continue, or will it one day stop?
what is likely to be the final issue?

I don't think there will ever be a final issue. However, if enough rank and file find out about a huge issue, it could cause a lot of people to leave.

Why be so nice to religion?
by IronGland init seems to me that in the u.s. most anything religious is always considered a good thing.
nearly all media go out of their way for religious organizations in ways they rarely would for anything else.
for all the religion bashing whining that the christians do in this country, i rarely see anything in public that bashes religion any more than anything or anyone else.

Ballistic-
I agree completely. Many of those guys are idiots.
The only one that I would say is an exception is Robert Schueller, based in Southern California. He has the Crystal Cathederal which is known world wide.
He has written several positive thinking based books, and from everything I have seen, and knowing people that know him, he seems to be an exceptional man.

I think the "trusting" of religious people is found world wide. By having religious values, one assumes that perhaps they are better than others.
I would say there is a good percentage of religious people that are good, honest people. Probably statistically better than those who have no religious background. I would probably be like most people and trust the minister before I trusted a gang banger that just got out of jail.
That being said though, there are people that should not be trusted, regardless of religious background.

Christian priorities and holidays
by jurs ineven when i was a jw i thought it odd that witnesses gave so much importance to holidays.
when i was studying, i was bogged down with how awful they were because they are pagan and how wrong it was to celebrate.
it seems to me like more attention was donated to the issue of holidays than what the meat of christianity is.

I married my ex back in the day, and barely lived to regret it. She was a witness, and still claims to be. They are not all as pure and wonderful as it may seem on the surface.
I encourage you to do some deep soul searching, and figure out what you really want, and why.
