I hope everything works out well for you. Because you are really helping a lot of people. You should send copies of your tapes to the media so everyone can see that you cannot ask questions once you are a Jehovah's Witness or you will be interrogated by these company men who are not interested in you spiritually. This meeting was done supposedly in God's house and yet not ONE scripture is read. They are not concerned with you being spiritually weak but rather defending the Org. Congrats to you for being brave enough to go thru that!

That clown who stopped to speak to you has some nerve saying he finds your signs offensive. After you told him you were raped by Jehovah's Witnesses as a little child, he does not even bat an eyelash or opologize in any way. Question for him would be: DON'T YOU FIND THE RAPE OF YOUNG CHILDREN EVEN MORE OFFENSIVE? The WT is Evil thru and thru. Congrats to you for telling the truth.

i see this site gets thousands of postings every day .. from literally thousands of members, mostly ex-dubs, from all over the world.. rather than simply go on moaning and whinging about the big nasty org why don't you all put your efforts into something positive ... do something.. ok - the org is evil .. but it exists ... and simply whining on about it doesn't change that.

with your efforts directed at something positive, you could do wonders for .

.for anything you choose.. hundreds of real charities could do with your support - to help the really needy .

First of all, many of us do help out charities and even support other churches. So please do not assume this is all we do all day is write on this forum.

Secondly, many have tried to change things within the Organization but it is virtually impossible since they are a huge, multi-billion dollar cult with their own legal department. But although we cannot take them totally down yet, we can help by having this forum, so that others are not duped by them and come under their control. It is found that the best thing to do is keep others from becoming part of this same cult.

And thirdly, this forum helps in the healing process. People need to be here to vent because their whole lives and families have been torn apart by this cult. For some, this is the best therapy they can afford. And many have made new, true friends, so they get the benefit from more support.

And lastly, why would you even say anthing like that and judge all of us when you do not know our circumstances?

i have my mum coming home tomorrow and stepdad.

got some choices to make, so here they are.

speak to mum about jw's at some point, back to 607, un scandal, lack of love and maybe more... .

I am sorry to say this but I have learned from past experience and the best thing I can say is this: Unless your mom and stepdad start preaching at you, you should not even bring the matter up. Because it will only alienate you from your mom. Talk about other things, rather than religion. And just wait until you are sure yuo have an opening to speak your mind, so she will not feel ambushed by you and that you only want to see her to tear down her beliefs. But, if she brings something up first that you can feel free to share how you feel. Just do it in a respectful way. You can say things like, well mom and dad, I can't in good conscience support the WT views becasue....... Or, I don't believe the WT is really speaking for God because ..................... (then bring out some of the many errors) See what I mean? Most likely, you wont get far if you start with them and they will only leave and be totally convinced that Satan is controlling you and they are right because you are persecuting them. You can also suggest that if they feel your views are wrong to please show you how you are wrong and to prove with they are saying OUTSIDE of the WT. Which of course they cannot do. Best of Luck. my son, just recently coming back into my life, told me he had his done,,,,and i was wondering,,any here know of theirs, and how it might have affected their lives, their outlook, etc.

I agree with greendawn. I knew some absolute geniuses who were great inventors and visionaries but did not do well on IQ tests. So I don't buy into numbers at all.

tired of not existing

ok, sorry about this but i'm in tears and just need to absolutely vent..... i am so tired of being invisible, of not existing to people that have said they love me, to people who i've known for years.. i had to find out from the stupid newspaper that a family friend died from her battle w/ breast cancer.. just this week i finally get in contact with someone who had stopped going to the meetings 10 years ago and now that she's back... guess what ... that's right ... i hate this religion.

yes i am depressed today.

everything a person has built in a life time is just ripped away.

sorry to hear what happened. I know it hurts. I was in the same place about a year ago and would just cry all day. It was so hard to loose all your "Friends" in one single day. But you know what, I realized that they were not true friends after all. They are simply brainwashed drones and I thank God every day for letting me know this so I could get out of there fast. As I was once a drone too. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. It takes time but like someone said, this will pass. LIfe will get so much better for you. We all know because we experience this. You will make many real friends. You have to be your own best friend right now and start building a real support system. Volunteer work is good, or get to really know your nieghbors, or get back in contact with family. There are lots of things you can do to uplift your spirit. But I know it still HURTS LIKE HELL! So, I am very Sorry. Many HUGS to you! Lilly

What have you done for yourself lately?

after reading greendawn's post, it made me realize that i do more for other people than i do for myself.

i put off buying things for myself and gave up doing certain things when my husband became ill... but, the one thing that i did do for myself and family was get all of us a computer.

having a computer gives me time to relax and roam around on the net doing random stuff.

a warm and friendly hello to all !!.

i've been lurking and learning for a few months.

former elder who drifted away due to congregation hyprocrisy and politics.. went through many of the feelings of inadequacy and/or lack of confidence for a while but the longer i was away the stronger i became.. i'll tell more about myself later but right now i want to thank all of your for sharing your thoughts and comments.. it's truly amazing how bright the light can get when you really learn the truth and get out of the "organization".

i was listening to a testimonial by valerie acuff and she said that she was sitting in an assembly, looking around at the crowd and thinking to herself, "this is your family, these are your people.".

she said at that moment she heard a voice inside say, "these are not your people, this is not your family, get up and leave now, and don't ever go back.

" so she took her two children at that very moment and left, and she never went back.

The last meeting I went too, (when I was already seeing bible verses twisted to suit any purpose) was a WT study about 2 years ago. I dont remember which one exactly and I wish I kept it. But anyway, it was an article about the Apostle Paul being swept away into the paradise, or having a vision of paradise. And they were trying to say that this vision of paradise was that he saw into the future and saw a vision of us sitting in the kingdom hall reading the abundance of spiritual food that Jehovah was providing. anyway, it was pretty hard to swallow and I told my husband that the same word for paradise that Paul was using in the paragraph was the paradise that Jesus said to the man next to him on the CROSS (thats right I said it), "you will be with me in paradise". And it obviously meant the paradise once the kingdom was ruling. Not us sitting in the kingdom hall studying books and magazines. (the illustration was of the so called spiritual abundance of books we have) And Then the article went on to feed us the rest of the crock of bull**** about being in a spiritual paradise right now and that was what Paul was referring to. And how exciting it is that this is what Paul saw and we were having a part in it. Does anyone remember this one?

Anyway, I sat there and fought the urge to grab the microphone and yell into it "does anyone believe this crock of s***, that they are trying to feed us?????? I was so upset and mumbling under my breath that my hubby told me to sit in the car. I told him after the meeting that if he made me go back, I swear to God I am going to stand up and go ballistic! That was my last meeting. I believe it was in October 2004.
