New Releases - What is there left to write about?
by truthseeker inhi everyone, and thanks to all for your comments in my recent posts.
i can't always get round to logging on, but do appreciate your feedback.. now for a question - what is there left to write about?
i mean, isn't printing 24,000,000 awakes and watchtowers enough?

On Blaming God...
by AGuest inmay you all have peace!
i find it funny... as in peculiar... that from adam until today... "we"... get our kicks blaming god.
starting with adam, who said, "the woman... that you gave me... she... made me... eat," we have this penchant to look everywhere but in the mirror.

The biggest favor that god can do for me, assuming he actually exists and was not the fevered product of insane minds, is stay the &$%@ away from me!
Reminds me of the conclusion to Graham Greene's The End of the Affair, in which the narrator, having finally inched from atheism to Christianity, asks God to leave him alone forever. Or when Ivan, in The Brothers Karamazov, acknowledges the power of God, this sovereign sort of train conductor of the universe, but respectfully returns to him the ticket.
Or in Harry Potter, when ... uh ... nevermind.

SYN Gets Paid A Visit! By The Dubs!
by SYN in*begin jaws music*.
yesterday i got visited by the dubs!
" then he said, only jehovah can judge the heart etc., you know, the usual inconsequential drivel all witnesses must spout when faced with this very important question, so i said, "so all those people are going to die then?".

All-time Worst Movie Sequels
by teejay ine-online recently compiled
no question about it ... there have been some stinkers.
here's e-online's list.

Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace is a fucking masterpiece compared to its sequel, Attack of the Clones. Sure, it's easy to make fun of Jar-Jar, but as a film, Phantom Menace holds up ... somewhat. Attack of the Clones, however, is a god-awful mess. It's simply fashionable to hate Phantom, and I'm not surpised that the clowns at E-online went with the cliche.
And Batman and Robin was worse than either of them.

Jesus, Shelia, calm down. You're totally misunderstanding St. Satan.

Relax, Shelia. I didn't assume anything. The recommendation wasn't just for you, and I didn't say you weren't well read. You've clearly missed my other remarks in other threads about Harry Potter (threads in which you were very active), and don't care to understand where I'm coming from.
I, in fact, haven't read Anna Karenina, but am going to this summer.

JGnat's comments on WT May 15, 2003 Christ Speaks to the Congregations
by jgnat inwt may 15, 2003 christ speaks to the congregations study june 29, 2003
here we study about the seven stars talked about in revelation 2, whom the article states logically denote spirit-anointed overseers, or bodies of elders.
* in revelation 2, the seven congregations are alternatively complimented for their strength, and slammed for their areas of weakness.

It's true: for all of the hoopla about God's always having had an organization, Witnesses sure neglect the regularity with which God abandoned those organizations.

Next recommendation for Sheila & other adults who've demonstrated the ability to read really long books in relatively short periods of time ...
Harry Potter is, you know, good and all that ... but ... that old fuddy-duddy Bloom might have half a point, a quarter of a point ... ?

You're crazy, but nice crazy.
