  Watchtower logo on side of kingdom hall

  my old kingdom hall has the watchtower logo built into the brick work on the side that faces the road - to me for a hall that is supposed to be dedicated to god, its a bit wrong to have a corporation logo on the side of it.

  maybe its there to show they and not the congregation own it???

  Our hall was remodeled about 5 years ago, and they put a Watchtower Logo in the brick work of the entrance way. Not on the actual building, on the floor, just before you walk through the door.

  Just What Is The WT Up To Now?

  has anyone heard about what is going on inside the organization these days regarding those who claim to be "anointed" christians?

  i have had at least three different people now who live in different areas of the country tell me that the elders are systematically pushing out people who claim to have become anointed within the last few years.

  these would be younger ones who are now professing the heavenly rather than earthly hope.. i find this interesting for several reasons.

  The scripture that they used to back up the idea that there will have to be anointed around when Armageddon comes, the one about cutting time short or something, now applies to 1914! I'll try and get a scan sorted when I'm at home.

  Has the Watchtower changed its mind or did I miss something?

  in all my years as a jw, my understanding had been of wtbts belief, was that the 144 000 were resurrected in a 'twinkling of an eye' and never actually experienced death.. did i understand wrongly or has the watchtower changed its mind......again?.

  when does the first resurrection occur?

  You've missed nothing Gill! This is new light, as of 2007. The more interesting new light, is found later on, in Paragraph 12 I think? It says they don't know whether or not any anointed will still be around when Armageddon comes, which is a change to the original teaching that there would be some anointed around for the beginning of the New World. The light gets ever brighter! Praise Jah!

  Faders: Would you prefer attention from the elders or not?

  this question may produce some flaming, but so be it.

  i've noticed many are freaked out, annoyed, worried, or simply felt harrassed when faced with the prospect of a visit from the elders when trying to fade.

  others, or at times the same ones, complain that they recieved no inquiry from them at all or very little.

  My fading has been noticed because some of the elders wanted to appoint me as an MS during the CO Visit in October, since I was 'progressing well' earlier on the year, but they couldn't, because since July/August, I've stopped answering, attended less meetings, am only reporting 1 or 2 hours a month, and have given up all my privileges except mike handling. Because of this, I was promised a shepherding visit about mid-October. I've been dreading this, as I don't want to speak to any elders, but I've still not had one.
  
  I wonder if the CO told them to do it, but now that he's gone they're not actually interested?

  That's quite interesting. Have you seen the recent change in the Jan 1st 2007 watchtower? New Light has told the GB that it is no longer necessary for anointed people to be on Earth when Armageddon comes, like they previously taught. Perhaps they are slowly trying to get rid of all anointed people in order to deal with the 1935 and 144,000 problems?

  my reason for this thread is to provide a bird food backup source growing up jw da birds were big.if i misbehaved as a small child my adult jw family members would 'put the fear of jehovah in me' by reminding me of jehovah & da birds.

  the song of solomon is being covered in the kh highlights this week.

  last night, the brother doing this talk went into detail about how this has a greater fulfillment, in that it applies to christ and the loyalty of his bride class, the anointed.

  surely this is just a love story between solomon and the girl?

Last night, the brother doing this talk went into detail about how this has a greater fulfillment, in that it applies to Christ and the loyalty of his bride class, the anointed. Surely this is just a love story between Solomon and the girl? How can it have a modern-day fulfillment? I know the Org like to apply as much of the bible as they can to themselves, but even the Song of Solomon? That's just silly.

  Blood fractions insert covered in tonight's service meeting

  for those still "in", how did this part go over in your congregation?

  we actually had a brother raise his hand and comment that he could not explain to a doctor why we allow fractions and obey the command of levitucus to pour blood out on the ground.

  i wonder how many others felt the same but did not have the never to comment openly?

  Our speaker said it's like having an apple pie. Once you break the pie down into different ingredients like sugar and stuff, it's not an apple pie anymore, and you have to decide for yourself at what point in the breakdown it becomes just different ingredients rather than just an apple pie. I don't understand how this applies to blood? Did anyone else think the demonstration was pointless and stupid? Perhaps mine was different, but the brother sat down and all he basically said was 'I've watched the video, and read the recent awake, lots of good information in them, and now I've decided what to do. Just to write it down on my medical directive form' Ok... and? What was the point?

  i think it will be around for years to come.

  i do think that we can put the word out about this cult and help people get out or not join them in the first place.

  but we'll never obliterate them, in my opinion.

  What is the "new" public reproof annoucement for repentant sinners?

  i have been out for so long now (da'ed in 1993) and i heard that jw's now have a "new" annoucement for disfellowshipping people.

  no longer one of jw's.

  but what about jw's that "repent" and want to stay as jw's what do the jw's elders say about them.
