  Another part of me was watching the event and saying "Hey, your on the wrong side of that finger!"

  I recall a Watchtower from the early to mid 60's I think, that basically said that in bible times sinners were put to death, but unfortunatly, we can't do that now.

  A demon was hiding under my bed once.

  I didn't know he was there and I read the bible to my baby as we usually do before bed.

  When I was done reading, the demon came out and said he wanted to become a Jehovahs Witness.

  i read the article and while i can't prove or disprove the claims, it seems like some reasonable information and it sure can't hurt to try it.

  Cancer is definitely a disease the drug companies do NOT want curing!

  Think about it..... the people who run big pharmaceutical companies are humans just like us.

  They get cancer too, and some of them also have to watch as their child, parent, or loved one die from cancer.

  They want a cure just the same as the rest of us.

  back in the 70's wt had this thingy going on where they thought the figurative heart may indeed be the literal heart....like it had cells in it that affected your thinking....esp on things of emotion...(i swear i am not makin this sheeite up)...i went to a district convention back then that had two six foot, thin paper boxes on stage, with lights inside.....on the outside of each box was a painting of a brain and a heart.......and when the person offstage was talking.....one of the boxes would light up.......like sometimes it was the brain talking.......sometimes it was the heart talking............but most of the time since i was a teen and the chicks were hot......my dick did all the talkin.............oompa.

  sorry got off topic at the end....but anyone remember that dc or material?.

  I remember the assembly with the giant light up heart and brain as well.

  My Grandma had a part in a demostration where it was post armageddon and she had a garden rake and she was actually raking up bones scattered about the stage. She raked up one pile and underneath the bones was a watchtower. she picked up the mag and thought out loud "I wonder who placed this magazine with this person (the pile of bones). And "why didn't they get a back call? (return visit).

  That image got seared into my little brain ............................. now it's just hilarious, and very sad too.

  i have been asked about a situation in which a former witnesses ladies now ex-husband has been caught exposing himself, and this has gone on for at least 15 years.

  he has also exposed himself to some close family members.

  the question relates to the wt explaination of "porniea".

  Not a former elder here but I have had experience with how elders handle bros who like to expose themsleves.

  They just don't take it very seriously, and they do not see it as grounds for divorce.

  They diffinately do not see it as harming anyone, even if he is exposing himself to young children.

  The elders told me, "he didn't touch you so no harm was done" and "he was outside your window, so there is no way he could have harmed you"

  They also told his wife that she had no grounds for divorce and that if she was a better wife he would probably stop doing that.

  i have a lot of them but this one my wife told me takes the cake!.

  my wife was about 15 yrs old and was attending the bookstudy at this sister's house.

  the sister's hubby was a non-believer but her daughter was a jw and was married to my wife's uncle who was also a jw.

  I had a discussion with a pioneer sister recently about the societys methods of dealing with child abuse.

  She began defending the society, she wanted to talk about all the charity work the society does (eye-roll here).

  I said "the catholic church is way bigger and richer then the society. They do far more charity work then the sociery ever dreamed of, correct?"

  She was forced to agree with me.

  Then I asked her if that excused the catholics for how they handled pedophile priests.

  Of course she had to agree with me again and then she remembered something else she needed to be doing................

  Disasters are great money makers for the Org. After Ktrina hit New Orleans hundreds of the brothers and sisters have spent countless hours rebuilding homes for displaced JW's. If the JW had no insurance, the brothers would rebuild their home anyway, for free. But if you had insurance, you agree to send that money to the society when it comes in.

  So the society would provide the materials, the brothers and sisters would provide the free labor and the org would receive ALL the money.

  Katrina was quite a cash cow for the society, I bet this earthquake will be too.
