Exactly, it's a stalling tactic. Now they can keep on vamping until they come up with some fantastic NuLight.

Finally putting the new light all together
by JimmyPage inokay maybe i'm a little slow but i'm finally beginning to understand how all the "new light" is tied together.
this has all been prompted for me by my reading of the 1914 chapter in "crisis of conscience".
see, the door to heaven which was previously closed in 1935 has been reopened.

I wonder what kind of "game-ending objections" were given here? Didn't want the drones to look outside and see people having a good time?

Why Can't People Just Show Appreciation For This Place???
by minimus ini've been reading a few pages of threads from saturday until today and i can't understand why some,(actually very few) try to damage this site.
this is one of a handful of (ex)jw sites that really helps people get out of the organization.
the interaction that we have here shows anyone how we can leave the so- called "truth" and enjoy life!

I won't be one of those people. I am addicted to this place.
I'm glad I was able to find this forum, and though the posting output from me might dip at times, I don't think I could leave.

I can name the concerts I've been to on one hand....Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, late last year. Earth Wind & Fire and Chicago, 2005. There was an outdoor block-party-like concert event from 98.1, that was probably the same year or before....uh.....can't remember the rest.

Some cute jokes on religion I read today
by Hope4Others injesus in the bathroom.
a sunday school teacher of pre-schoolers was concerned that his students might be a little confused about jesus christ.
he wanted to make sure they understood that the birth of jesus occurred a long time ago, that he grew up, etc.

Hope4, those were really, really good. I don't tell too many jokes, but I'm building a repetoir...
Everyone else, y'all were hilarious, especially that JW pioneer joke. Too bad I don't think I can use it on the dubs....

The power of words.
by Anti-Christ inall of us here know the power of words.
i think that today we use a lot of words that prevent our society from evolving.
our language is loaded with labels that prevents us from seeing certain realities.

I agree with your thoughts on the word "racist," and that's why I am trying to replace that with "bigot." There are different regional heritages and ancestries, naturally, but all still the same species...
However, I disagree with your description of homosexuality falling within the normal range of human sexuality. Normal means conforming to a norm...and if the norm is heterosexuality, then it's not normal. The majority of people on this planet are heterosexual. It's fair to say that the average person is likely to be straight. So there's nothing wrong with calling it abnormal. Perhaps you are concerned about the negative connotation of "abnormal," but I can't change that.
When there's one world religion (or hopefully none) and one global empire, we can do away with the labels that we've defined, but until then, they're a necessary part of our language...

Does anyone remember this old tv preacher?
by Tired of the Hypocrisy ini can't remember this guys name to save my life, but he used to crack me up late at night on cband sattelite back in the early 1980s.
he was sort of a judge roy bean type of guy with gray hair and he would sit there and cuss and complain and and talk about how enoch (he would call him eenick) was the model for christ.
he used to give the funniest explanations and illustrations.

Those shades are pimp, as is the hat.
If he weren't dead I'd send him some money.
No wait, maybe he can send some money to me, seeing as how he's a televangelist made man!

New Light - July 15, 2008 SE of the WT - Sower and Seed - another angle
by independent_tre ini've seen the topic where they try to explain invisible growth, but something else about this wt magazine stands out.
if this isn't adulterating the word of god, i don't know what is.
the wts has done it again and managed to usurp jesus' position and interject themselves into his place.

I've been aware of the whole "you r&f are the sowers" explanation for some time...but good find on the "some in Christendom" line they spewed out! Wow...unlike some other verses that can be spiritualized, this one is more blatant.
