  Does Anyone Know Any of the Newer GB Members? Please share your stories.

  i have read some threads here that suggest that anyone thinking big changes are coming to the watchtower due to all of the new gb appointments is fooling themselves.

  its been said that ted jaracz has been heavily involved in selecting new gb members and wants to ensure that they all share his hard-line vision for the religion.

  i must admit that i thought there would be big changes by now since six of the nine gb members were appointed within the last eight years.

  Guy Pierce - hardline. He was our bookstudy conductor back before the day when he became a CO. Very much a company man - WT comes way ahead of Bible.

  Sorry, I can't for the life of me remember your name... But the grandmotherly lady on here who gave me the address for my mom - can you PM me? I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. The person in question wrote back to my mom and she was so excited.... He even included (by coincidence?) an experience from Moldova that hit very close to her heart, as she knows many people who needlessly went through the persecution in that country.

  I have been here for awhile now, but I don't actually remember if I ever posted my story.
  

  I ended up df'd and alone. Looked around to Yahoo groups for a support group to help me get reinstated - some kind of social life. After all, you end up df'd with no friends and you are not supposed to have worldly friends, what are you to do? Anyway, Roy Milton send me a copy of his book - Truth or Consequences. I talked that over with my mom (anointed sister), and she told me to get CoC.... Let me tell you, my blood pressure went up on that one!!! Touch an apostate book....... And my own mother recommended it..... So, I got it. Wow.... All the things that I had known all along, but you didn't dare talk about. From there, I started wondering what mainstream Christianity was all about and found it very very different from what the JWs say. Then I found this board. And here I am....

  Parents - Be Vigilant as Regards those Toys.....

  i purchased a small green dinosaur for my almost 3 year old grandson yesterday.. it was one of those real 'rubbery' ones, soft to the touch, about 6 inches in length.

  in the center of the belly of the beast is a small hole that was created by the injection press that produced it.

  Was it shrink-wrapped in any way, or just sitting loose on the shelf? 'Cuz some kid might have entertained himself by stuffing batteries into toys at the toy store.... My son was of that type. My mother watched him when he was about 8 months old and told me that he just sat for an hour and took off the door stop and put it back - took it off and put it back. He would put popped balloons in my shoe, cheerios in the printer....

  have you heard about a letter for all congregations announced next new change in wts politics?.

  in letter is information that the time for the public talk will be reduced to 30 minutes.. does anyone have a copy?

  Hey - why don't they just send around an approved CD set of talks and they can just play that? Or a DVD if they want to get really inspiring.... I mean, we lost the real music - heaven forbid there might be a spark of originality.

  i have a sister in law who has recently taken up the pentecostal religion.

  before this she was devil/goth child.

  When you were a dub, did you shun DF/DA'd people?

  actually, in my 14 years as a dub, it only came up with one person in our cong.

  who got pregnant out of wedlock (and used drugs during pregnancy).

  she was df'd but still came to most meetings.

  Some yes, and some no. We had a good friend who got a bit too much into partying and he was df'd. I did shun him and it felt BAD. The very time that he and his family could use some support we were not there for them. I always had a hard time with the concept. My best friend were df'd as well. Then, near the end, a friend's dad was df'd for working in a casino to provide for his family (he could not find other work) and they were walking in extreme heat all together from the bookstudy to their home (which was some distance away). I saw them and figured there was no earthly reason I should not offer them all a ride. They refused and I got censured by the elders for offering the ride. Made no sense to me.

  For people who know anything about cell phones and computers.

  i was wondering... i have been avoiding someone on the phone for months.

  i usually keep my cell phone off for days and weeks at a time.

  but somehow whenever i do turn my phone on, i get a call within a couple of minutes.. now at first i thought it was just a coincidence.... but not anymore, it happens every time i turn on my phone.

  I work for a cell phone company. There is no such software. In fact, it would be a violation (in the United States) of FCC regulations. Are you positive the person is actually calling you at the time, or is the phone just ringing with the missed call message? If you do have IM that automatically signs in on your phone as status: mobile then that could be a possibility.
