We just received an email this afternoon for the additional tariff on our auto parts, potentially 79% total by May. The existing 25%, the March addition of 20%, and the possible 34% in May.

I remember having a conversation years ago with JW friends (at the time), that the organization had two ways to go.
- Hardcore...Knorr/Jaracz hardcore isolating way or
- Christian church kumbaya way
Money talks...and beards/ladies slacks/NO COUNTING HOURS is painless for the corporation and an easy way to keep people hanging on and bank debits for WT expenses in intact.

The G.B and the Org. overall do not care or hardly think about the poor victims in cases like this.
^^This is the thing that makes me sick to my stomach and absolutely HATE this religion.
Spend a little time watching or reading any court case where the WT lawyers absolutely vilify the formerly juvenile victims in court is enough to make my blood boil.
I really hate this religion. Always hoping the victims receive the help they need to live a normal life.

Congratulations to you and to all for getting to this point.
I am there as well. As a point of interest I like to see what changes are...not necessarily doctrine, I couldn't care less what the Watchtower corporation doctrine changes because they've been making it up all along for 150 years. As I have family still in that I communicate with, I like to know generally what is going on.
I appreciate this site and check in daily to scan the "Latest," and I message with a poster regularly. I will forever be grateful for this site, and the friends I still have that I met from here, from all over the world.
PS. A side note. Last Sunday Aude Sapere and another poster from here and I had tickets to a musical show. The poster was ill and her tickets went to friends of her friend. We met at the box office at the theater and the new friends asked how we knew the poster. I said that we were all exJW's and met from an online exJW DB. They both said "US TOO!!" The poster did not know of their JW connection! And they know nothing of anything online of exJW's. We loved the show and had a great dinner afterward sharing our stories. They were so excited to meet us...they have no exJW connection. We love the theater as do they, so we will do it again. Anyway, ya just never know....

Telling People You Used To Be A JW
by JW_Rogue insince i faded i've told a few people at work about having been raised in this organization but i found that most people don't really get what it is like at all.
they just focus on not celebrating holidays as if that is the worst thing about growing up jw.
i didn't explain much because it's too much for most people to handle.

AGAIN, there is this never ending ridiculous theme of trying to convince JWs to quit their jobs! Only in this case there is the âhopeâ planted in somebodyâs mind that an anonymous benefactor might drop a pile of money on them!
Hi LHG! CO's say all sorts of thing...they used to have quite opinionated "scared straight" tactics, not sure what the group is like today. The corporation would word it much differently..."is your employment interfering with your theocratic activities? What would Jehober want you to do" guilting people into sabotaging their own financial stability.
I'm glad you and I never paid them any heed. I have worked longer than I thought I would...but it's only because I never took advantage of retirement planning and started late. But it's finally here for me.

Do JWs see the org falling apart?

i don't have any family i talk to that are in it.
so i don't know if the jws as a whole are seeing the cult fall apart or if they or the majority of them are head in the sand la la la the end is neigh.

The bar is so low, itâs much easier to be a JW today.
The literature and few minutes Iâve seen of talks are intolerable to me, condescending etc. I think it goes in one ear and out the other for most with sunk cost fallacy.
I went down the rabbit hole on FB a few weeks ago, everybody is the same..going to international RC, hosting Eastern Europeans, vacationingâŚâbest convention everâ etc. I canât help but think the ones my age must have cognitive dissonance having lived through the multiple end of times predictions. Now many with grandkids, all dressed up like little ministers, they wonât rock the boat.
The corporation did a masterful job of putting lipstick on an old sow.

Sadly, Javier is codependent with his need for "spiritual" (cough) goals. He wanted to pioneer and only work part time, he got it. There are plenty of companies that only want part time workers.
And the writers at the corporation advising him on his life choices when they have every need cared for...grrrr.
