i have been on my way out of "the organization" for several years now, but have moved cautiously because i don't want to jump from the firing pan into the fire so to speak.

I left the troof 23 years ago my wife followed 10 years latter. I can take or leave holidays but my wife likes to celebrate and decorate. I buy her a bunch of presents and she buys me a bunch of presents thats how we do it. Same with birthdays, but we usually limit them to 1 present. Cards thats up to you. just some thoughs after reading the past wt's and reviewing the last assembly with a friend.
it still amazes me how the wtbs gets away with the absolute foolishness of their beliefs.
the only plausible explaination that i could come up with is that it is like porn (spritural nudity) such that the dubs are now addicted to.

okay, i have a very imaginative mind.
i have always loved the series star trek, until it went belly up in over kill.
i always loved the thoughts it brought up, with what would happen if an alien species encountered a less advance or primitive species.
That would mean they would have to be with in 5 light years or less of us to make such a journey. If they were indeed that close their civilization would be emitting massive electro magnatic radiation in the form of radio waves, microwave and everyother wave in the spectrum. If that were so we would HEAR them before we could see them. At this moment our planet is flooding the local universe with our electro magnatic radiation. Any civilization within ear shot would know we exist and where to look for us.
Your premise of having to be 5 light years or less may be faulty based on our primitive understanding of quantum physics and science.

#1 Perhaps they do and are here and conduct experiments with us and deal with the less primitive of us. There are many accounts on the internet of this being the case.
#2 An advance civilization would view us as very barbaric, primitive and dangerous.
#3 just like a cow, pig, sheep, doesnt know why it is here,(to be consumed) perhaps we are being raised and harvested, (our invisable souls) by beings from beyond.
Just something to think about.

I've been out 23 years the first 10 I didnt celebrate anything, Then my wife left the organization and she puts up a xmas tree and decorates and we celebrate birthdays, she decorates for halloween. I dont feel any guilt.As part of my healing process, I realized the society is full of poop and the bible is a book of contradictions. I dont allow either to influence me. If it feels good I do it as long as it doesnt hurt anyone else. By hurt I mean physically not phycologically.

I don't look forword to much of anything.I look forward to the weekend and having time to myself. I look to collect social security in 10 years and stop working and then I will be waiting to die. Its not very exciting but it wasnt exiting for me being a witness either. I do try to enjoy myself everyday. But most days thats not very exciting either. Like peggy Lee sang "is that all their is?" You ask a good question I hope someone gives a good answer.
my boss and i were talking today about changing jobs - she said she would have loved to change jobs in her 40's (she's about 60 now) but she said everyone should change jobs about 1/2 way through their lives.. currently i work in the marketing department of a whitewater rafting outfitter in pennsylvania - and i think if i changed jobs it would be to become a writer.. so my question is what job would you like to change too and what do you currently do?.
I was a tool maker for 28 years. This past January I have become a corrections officer.
i am seriously contemplating voting in the november elections.. if a curious/nosy jw wants to find out if i participated in the election process, can he/she get this information?.
i would like to do this, but in secret, my conscience does not bother me and i think it will be kinda cool to do it for the 1st time.. smoky.
