  Anyone Ever Read The Four Agreements, A Toltec Wisdom Book?

  subtitle is "a practical guide to personal freedom" by don miguel ruiz .

  i just started reading this book and it is amazing.

  i have been underlining on every page things that i can personally relate to - and i must admit i'm not very far into it yet (page 25) but i felt a very strong urge to not only recommend it (i'll be back later to weigh in again once i start reading what the four agreements actually are/entail) but also ask if any here (oh my very dear friends on jwd) has read this book and what your personal thoughts are?.

  Wow i really want to read this book now- i love to see how ancient wisdom agrees across the globe, these quotes are so very 'eastern' and lovely :) (as well as plain good pshychology!)

  Hambeaks Extremely Heartbreaking News

  our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.

  the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.

  he was in a car accident.

  i agree with the rest of the poster's JW's do emmasculate males and females if you want to get down in it. They taint and misunderstand natural processes generally...

  due to funkyderek i have come to the decision to leave this board.

  when i posted on the current gay thread in a way that i thought would stimulate thinking and lighten up the seriosness of the thread and have a laugh, he and others put me down publically labelling me.

  so i find it difficult now to continue posting knowing that someone has influenced others into thinking that i'm not worthy of being here because my phrasing and spelling is bad and that i'm apparently a "hyporite".

  Wow- some amazing posts here, all of them are so true. GGBG you are such a loving, spiritual person. Good will come to you by virtue of your intent. That is undeniable. I hope that one day your Mom and sister will truly learn the message of Love that this avatar, Jesus, taught- if not this lifetime then the next - so be it.

  If i 'believed' in a god that judged, this is where i would say- ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ;)

  this time i thought for sure they wouldn't publish this one...but i believe our local paper, the stevens point journal is a very liberal, progressive little newspaper.

  the elders ignored my last letter...i wonder if they can ignore this one???

  The societies opposition to open discussion and free debate, is really an issue of maintaning their control over the group, and is not about protecting any supposed truth. As Jefferson pointed out, truth needs no protection. While there is a "flat earth" society, you certainly don't find science organizations trying to stamp out their publications. The truth about the shape of the earth needs no such protection. The problem for the society, and for most other religious groups, is that there is no such concrete truths to be found in the bible. In many cases the bible contradicts itself, or is silent on the specifics of a given theological doctrine. This leaves much room for manuever, and therefore the plethora of religious teachings we see today. While this situation may be good foder for religious debate, it is a terrible problem for religious authorities. Which is why, from the beginning, religious authorities have sought to suppress religious views which don't agree with their's. After all, if you're free to disagree, you're free to set your own standards of worship, and therefore, don't need the authorities

  so it seemed only right to share a bit of dub poetry to warm your scraggy cockles.

  marry only in the lord - 1 corinthians 7:39. i'd like to tell you a story, about true love at last.it's very informative and has an interesting cast.so pay close attention, it's sad but true,and don't ever think this can't happen to you.. i met him during lunch break on a sunny day,he sat next to me and smiled, as i was about to pray.we talked on and on.
