  Convention Hotels

  i have heard an experience a thousand times (in conversation as well as from the platform) of a person who had a talk on the district convention program that did not stay at a hotel on the recommended lodging list.

  this person was spotted by a fellow conventioner and was asked why he was staying at a hotel that was not on the list and happened to be just across the street from the convention location.

  his reply was that he has a part on the convention and it would be more convenient for him to stay there than use one of the approved hotels.

  Unreal experience

  i told a jw friend who is aware of my fade but is not supporting me in it that i was convinced that if the elders read a letter from the platform stating that everyone in the hall should commit a group suicide - most people would do it.

  good: people are devout.

  bad: people are brainwashed and totally under control of the org.. ugly: this person did not disagree with me.. .

  Where's God?

  i was baptised in a freewill baptist church about 15 years ago, and then i became a witness and was baptised about 11 years ago.

  what my experience has taught me having delved deeply in both (served as a servant and later an elder in wts) is that i don't really believe that there is a god.

  why won't he answer me?

  Somehow.... I am winning out in the end...

  ok... something strange is going on here - what is it?

  i just stepped down as an elder back in early november - and basically have a wife who has her hooks so far in the organization that i thought she would never bend... you know the drill - many family members in the truth - raised in the truth, etc..... well... last night we had a heart to heart about the doubts that i have been having, why i stepped down, and what i think will be a fair an equitable solution to the handling of our two kids.

  it was like my coming our party - she completely bent on everything... she was completely understanding about my stance on everything, and although she does not agree - she does agree to not fight me on everything.

  Write my letter for me!

  i wanted to write my wife a letter - everything just turns bad quickly when i try to talk to her about what i have learned about the "truth" she won't turn me in to the elders for being apostate because she can't bear the thought of it, and she doesn't want me talking to the kids at all about what i have learned.

  so... everything i need to say will have to be done with carefully chosen words in the form of a letter.

  i am not worried about her taking the letter to the elders, and she isn't the kind to make a copy of it.

  What if you refused to be disfellowshipped?

  what if you were df'ed for apostasy - yet you continued to show up at meetings with a big smile, slapping folks on the back and shaking hands with them, raising your hand to comment on every paragraph, even being visibly annoyed when you are not called on?

  file a restraining order?

  lock the door?

  Did you ever???

  this is going to sound like a strange question - but throughout my years in the organization, i would hear reports of those coming out of the world into the truth who had problems with demons.

  i mean people who would swear that satan or his demons literally caused supernatural occurrences that they were witnesses of.

  does anyone have any real, honest stories of demon influence or encounter?

  Did anyone ever rebel to play school sports

  how many of you who grew up in the truth truly loved a sport and fought hard against your jw parents to get to play it?

  post your experience here.

  my determination to play come hell or high water led to my mother turning me over to the state as a youngster, which then lead to foster care and freedom until i foolishly came back to the borg as an adult.

  has anyone here ever had a wife or family member find this site bookmarked, in their history, or on the screen of their pc?

  Did leaving the borg ruin your marriage

  has anyone else here left the borg and had it go over like a lead ballon, ruining their marriage?

  mine is quickly heading that way.

  i have been married for about a decade, and have a couple of kids - both in grade school.
