How old are your children? It is "your" responsibility to teach your children. You could go over some Bible stories with your children yourself if you wish. Tell your Dad you are all busy with school, studying/homework, gymnastics, baseball/soccor, family outings. Afterall, you have an active life now, not a "wait until" whenever and so do your children.

Cancelled bookstudy- but do you remember 4 day Assemblies!!!
by Witness 007 inassemblies used to go for 5 days which caused problems for brothers with work so....it was changed to thursday to sunday......then half of thursday to sunday.....then 3 days only.
does anyone remember this....i remember 3 and a half days.

In '58, the 8 day assembly in New York,,we traveled there from California by car, no air-conditioning then, there were 4 of us kids then,,don't know how my parents did it,,didn't even get our lodging yet till we got there,,then the Society made an agreement w/a ship that was used to bring Europeans to New York for the assembly and docked there till after the assembly to return the Europeans (Europeans had already their lodging elsewhere), and we finally got our rooming assignments after we got to New York,,the ship was not a cruise ship either like nowadays, quite in the rough. Our room had bunk beds with shared bathroom facilities. The air circulation wasn't working in that ship the 1st day there. Most District Assemblies were hot and how we had to always dress up, I think those were always a 'brain frying' event in themselves for us. Oh the memories :(

What good would a DA letter do?
by dogon ini have long thought of doing this, but could never see any good it would do except make me feel good for a few seconds.
i also feel that when you do this you let them win.
they always say that we told you so, or now he is gone and our congregation is clean bla bla bla.

If you DA with letter, they still get the last word, they judge, they announce, they command for no one to talk to you again.
If you just quit going without word, then you are perplexing to them, they hate that.

The organization has seen how we have caught on to their playing with statistics. Now they will be able to manipulate their statistics even more. They know their decreases will affect the morale so now they will pick & choose their numbers. Their people won't even have a clue to the organization reality even more so.

It's like if one of their loved ones die now, they're relieved, that their loved one though not an active JW will be resurrected into the new world 'soon'. I have seen this and it causes them not to 'mourn' at all or for a mourning delayed.
