Gas to hit 7 dollars per gallon
by 1914BS ingas to hit $7 a gallonby marty jeromeapril 29, 2008 | 2:00:00 pmcategories: alt fuel, business, finance, fuel economy, policy, post-petroleum.
both qatar's oil minister and the head of opec can see oil hitting $200 a barrel before the end of the year and one analyst says gas could reach $7 a gallon within four years.
but this seems to explain part of what's happening with the price of oil.

January 15th 1983 Watchtower
by Bring_the_Light inparagraph 19-21 are under the heading "fight against independant thinking".
the question box at the end of the article contains the question "what is an evidence of independent thinking, and what can help us to avoid it?
the clear answers from the paragraphs are that noting that "gods organization has made adjustments in the past, to point out their fallability is the result of "pride" and independent thinking can be avoided by remembering where you learned bible truths in the first place.

This WT study was the last one I ever attended. I only went to one other meeting and that was the memorial that year.
After this WT study, I was totally disillusioned about the WT. The organization that I had thought to be God's began to seemlike it was attacking the "sheep". The scripture came to mind Ezekiel 34:
1" The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? 3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. 4 You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. 5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. 6 My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.
7 " 'Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD : 8 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, 9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD : 10 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.
11 " 'For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. 12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. 13 I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land. 14 I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD. 16 I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.
17 " 'As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats. 18 Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet? 19 Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
20 " 'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep. 21 Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away, 22 I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered."
This was the last straw. It began with the abuse of the elders in our congregation against a friend and ended with this Watchtower in 1983. During the study, people were like in a feeding frenzy. The WT was calling names and the people in the congregation were like sharks. One brother made the comment (as if it was a great sin) "They have even found groups studying just THE BIBLE in their rooms". "Dogs returning to their vomit", spiritual adulterers and other name-calling comes to my mind. I left that meeting with a sick feeling in my stomach. My exit was quick. About 6 months as I recall. After this WT study, I could not longer stomach being in the congregation. It just changed my view of my "loving brothers".
This WT showed me that the WT was not the "faithful and discreet slave of Matthew 24:45 but the "evil slave" of Matthew 24:48.

Jeff,
During this one Saturday morning, he told the story of this JW couple who started their relationship by cheating on their mates and getting disfellowshipped. After getting reinstated and married they had a Down's Syndrome child.
Klein went on and on about how this couple had a "mongoloid" child as a punishment from God for their unfaithfulness to Jehovah when they committed adultery and were disfellowshipped.
It really got the Bethel family upset and the Saturday morning he apologized for his comments.
This was my ex sister-in-law. She and the elder were reinstated withing six months or so. My B-i-l was devastated, but he went on several years later to marry the sweetest gal. I guess God
used that for good!!! After we were disfellowshipped, she would not speak to us.

Hi DonaLeigh,
WELCOME!! We are so glad you found us. This is a great place to find
people who understand. Boyzone wrote all my good advice. hee hee Go back to her
post and read my thoughts.
We were in the organization for almost 50 years. We have been out for 25. In spite of
all the drawbacks, it just keeps getting better. Freedom is worth the price.
Love and hugs,

Welcome redredrose,
If you don't have a perfect JW family, it is easy for the elders to blame
the husband. Even if his wife is not doing all they think she should do,
they remove him from any "privelege" of service.
My husband was a servant/elder from 1947 until something happened
in 1981 that the elders felt eager to judge and he offered to "step down". He
was so hurt when they accepted his resignation. They are sometimes
so heartless in dealing with human feelings. My heart goes out to you
and your husband.
Hope you will find peace.
Love and hugs,

From Rutherford -2008 Watchtower ="dont have kid's till after Armagedon!"
by Witness 007 inyes i thought rutherford's policy on kid's was dead and the society had wised up....until i read the new "witnesses only" watchtower study magazine...compare.. rutherford's last book "children" 1942 = p.281 "wait until after armagedon to bring children into the world...it is only afew years before the other sheep are gathered to the lord, until armagedon...those with infants during armagedon will have greater woe...it would be a far greater difficulty to care for them during the tribulation.".
watchtower 2008 april 15 p.19 {picture of a middle aged couple witnessing with question: why do some christian couples decide not to have children?
} paragraph 12 "single or childless for a noble purpose.....numerous couples have decided to remain childless....they often do so to remain freer to serve jehovah...they are willing to place kingdom interests above some of the privileges that go with marriage...jehovah will not forget their work, and the love they show for his name...there will be a great tribulation...doubtless, it will be a difficult time for all of us-adults and children alike.".

My husband and I were at that convention in St. Louis in 1941. We were told that young people should not think about marriage. That we should pioneer, put in more service time, be faithful meeting attenders. Because of natural urges, Joe and I got married. I was 17 and he was 21. After a couple of years, I wanted to have a baby, but he was insisting that Armageddon was too close. I finally convinced him that even if it came very soon that we could make it with a baby. I never thought my son would go to kindergarten before the new world would be here. My son died last year at the age of 56. I am so glad that my maternal urges overcame my fear of WT propaganda. We have 3 other children and 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. And still the end is not here................ Velta
