i was thinking last night of alot of the bs i've heard from the platform over the years and i thought of a real doosie and figured i'd post it for you all.
we had our co visit a few months ago.
in his opening talk he was encouraging the stepford congregation by regailing us with experiences from his visit with our sister congregation the week prior.
I remember when the CO would come by and do the same thing, we started 20 some BS today. Same practice, no you didn't, your pep rally talk may work in your mind, but the reality of it, what you started today was just that BS. Actually CO should be redone, it should be CO2.

When it comes right down to it as humans we will do what we want to do for whatever reasons. We may not be honest with ourselves or others around us, but being selfish by nature, we will do what we want for the most part. Why a person sticks to it knowing everything is only something they can answer and maybe after a period of time. Whether they are a fence sitter, fear of man, doubts about who is right, afraid to lose family, who knows. But most important be truthful to God, we cannot fool him as easy as we do ourselves.

To me this is sad, the rejection of God and it wasn't anything that He did or His fault.

i usually tell them i'm da.i tend to feel like it's my way of respecting their belief that way.when i was a dub i wouldn't have wanted to talk to a df or da ed person.i was at a family wedding a couple of weeks ago and lots of people came up and said hi to me.people who know who i am and know i'm da ed.i was polite and said hi back but i didn't really talk to anyone unless they talked to me first.i'm asking this question because my second cousin came up to me and said hi.he asked how i was doing i said i'm great.then i told him i'm da ed.he said really i said yes it's been 8 happy years since i left.then i walked away.i think i was rude.what do you say when people come up to you and say hi?

Most try to run from me, I have been labeled as the worst apostate by my ex's family who are very influential in the area with $ and in the congr. I use to play by their games, was the one who walked away and played by "oh my I am DF'd and I know they won't talk to me" I have seen them run in the other direction. Now I try to make eye contact and be a genuinely polite to them as possible, I say hi and would talk to them if they would return it back. My veiwpoint is, just because they act unchristian doesn't mean that I am going to follow them. I made that mistake for 22 years, it doesn't allevaite my responsibility to be like Christ just because they won't. I am not better than them or anyone else, if Christ could talk to the harlots and everyone around him, who am I to judge others around me as unfit to talk to?

while discussing the trinity, you as the jw said that the word trinity is not in the bible.. the non-jw responds, well you believe in a theocracy or theocratic organization.

In my day of arrogance as a witness as Abandoned said, the holier than thou attitude and you know the truth condenscending attitude. I would have stated my viewpoint and walked away with my head held high thinking I was superior as a Witness who had the truth. Today I now realize, I know very little and the only thing that does matter is not doctrine but rather faith in God, in his provision for life which is His Son the Christ, love, humility, modesty, and the thought that God is the ultimate Jugde not me. I also pray that Jehovah and Christ can forgive me for my arrogant attitude, my teaching of others from door to door and from the stage as an elder. I pray that they forgive me for such a Non-Christian attitude and display in my life. I thank them both for allowing me to read the Bible and get a lot of self center ideas flushed my pathetic head and heart. Who am I to think that I have the right way of worshipping God and who is going to get life, I pray for forgiveness of walking around with an attitude like that, that is formulated in your mind with witness teaching.

So if we are to follow the first century Christians why to they use the tract in areas that already have heard of Christ? I agree with you abandoned, next year will tell the tale with the count of Bible studies. Matt 11:19 "wisdom is proved right by its fruits"
i know i'm taking the easy way out----but i'm in a debate with a (particularly snotty) jw and i can't find the answer in the "litter-ature"...but its gotta be there somewhere...... it concerns a jw praying for a dfed or a daed jw.....i always understood that a jw could not pray for them.....but this jw says they can...and do.. has there been "noo lite" on this?

It doesn't matter what some man made literture says Jesus said this at Matt 5:43-48 43 “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ [ r ] and hate your enemy. 44 But I say, love your enemies! [ s ] Pray for those who persecute you! 45 In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. 46 If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. 47 If you are kind only to your friends, [ t ] how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. 48 But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.
One of the reasons I left is because to me, the WTBTS nor any man made lit will ever supercede what Christ taught,
If they cannot do that much, then I let the scripture speak for itself, who do any one of think we are to look down our noses at another fellow human being? This judging of others is one of the most negative aspects of the JW's, I feel sorry for them and hold no malice to them. I wish they use the Bible more than man made lit, it is was gotten them in so much trouble.

how do i tell her that i no longer want to be affiliated with the religion i taught her for two years?
1) If you are resolved that you are making the right descision by leaving, if you talk to her about your leaving then you are NOT letting her down but rather helping her.
2) For every action there is an equal reaction, depending on the state of mind your friend has, your reaction may be a visit from the elders as her loyality will compel her to report you and DFing or DAing is what they will tell you should do.

Yes they got things wrong but not under inspiration, it wasn't while they were writing the Bible for future generations, in their life yes but not when it came to dispensing words or teachings where peoples lives hung in the balance, especially after becoming anointed with HS

it's a question that the wt has misused to establish its own authority.
as it is, the parable today as a cautionary tale applies to whoever it fits, but it is clear who the original servant was that inspired the parable.. .
Very good and interesting research, I feel part of the answer is found in Peters words just prior to Jesus saying the FD slave in Luke 12:41 Peter asked, “Lord, is that illustration just for us or for everyone?”
I too feel it is for anyone who follow Jesus teachings and not a slave class, we are all responsible to be faithful and discreet to our God and His Son. But thanks again for all the research and hard work and for your thoughts.
