How do you know it is the same ST as last year? They ALL sounded the same for the past 45yrs but that's just me. They would put a little twist to the title and call it *Special* but all the same anyway. Did they not get a 'new' manuscripe this year? Or is it just an 'outline' like the other talks?

Gary, ....that was good.....giggles.....throw up a 4000sq ft windowless building....yes, I see that study coming. I'll have to share that one with my husband. He was on the building commitee for years and the No Windows policy was a sore spot for him. What are we going to do in there that we don't want anybody else to see? can't we at least have a window in the entry for Plant Life..... No, not going to happen.
He was inside a KH with windows the day Mt St Helen blew and will never forget the black clouds and the hush over the congergation. They really thought 'is this the Big A? Not that that has anything to do with window vs no window. He just feels it makes JW more like a weird and cultish group to the 'Worldly People'
We have been 'out' for about 2yrs but he isn't into being a part of this board. Nothing against it, just not interested. He does enjoy my sharing some of your comments so will get a kick out of your insight.

Thank you Blondie, I look forward to your WT review each week. I often do not have time to read or share comments here on the board but I always make time for this topic. My 50+ yrs of attending the Sunday WT study has been a difficult habit to break. I always looked forward to Sunday-go-to-meeitng. When I found myself critiquing the WT and my husband and I offering sarcastic comments to each other, finally we asked ourselves 'why do we come week after week' ? It was like hitting ourselves on the head over and over -Ouch! Yet it has been hard to go cold turkey from all that fun so your insights have greatly helped me through rehab and rediscovery process.
ORCHIDS well, I have just begun to learn a little about these fascinating creatures. We went to the Awesome Seattle Garden Show last week and OH MY....I feel in love with orchids. My husband gave me one in bloom last year and I have succeeded in bringing her into bloom again. Very Proud. From what I am learning it's all about Light and Food. I bought a Schultz Orchid food and that seems to have worked but the experts at the show recommended a organic kelp food so I bought that along with 2 Lady Slipper plants. And Light, depending on the variety the needs vary. Read the marker well, all you need to know should be there. Although if you are like me you will want a Big Book with many Pictures for added knowledge and entertainment.
I have always had lots of houseplants and in the last 5yrs outside veggie and flower gardening has been my passion. Today spring is in our air and I'm feeling Spring Garden Fever welling up.
Thank you again, your WT comments are always Right On.

The first time we studied this book, in the 80's, my husband was an elder, 4 children, I was reg aux pioneer and book study in our home. As we began this book with it's interpretation of scripture prophecy, I found myself asking 'who makes this stuff up?' I am a third generation witness so had heard of the 1918 prison terms for the WT officials and their release and 'complete exoneration'. Something about the Rev book teaching got me more interested so did some research. I wish I could share with you all my findings but it was all on my old vintage computer that crashed and died a few months ago. But I will try to find my back up printout soon. I found the public record of the court proceeding and the information was very eye opening. When I commented at the study on my findings, the word 'exonerated' not found in any record, I was 'schussed' and told not to bring in my personal research as it was 'not approved' and wait on Jehovah.
That's just what I did, waited. I never again commented at any meeting and gradually stopped field service, meeting attendance and now here I am 2yr on somebodies 'Inactive List' My husband joined me and 3 of 4 children. Personally I feel very 'Active' now that I READ and THINK outside the JW box. The Truth I found concerning the 'Two Witness' set me free to look deeper into other questions I'd stored up over 30+yrs of JW mind control. Blood, disfellowshiping, cross, etc. The list is LONG.
Yes, for me, the Rev Book turned out to be a well disguised blessing.

am I the only one....because I found the thing to be very tongue-in-cheek sarcasm, quite anti-JW. The small child being innocent and open to Mind Contol. The householders being disturbed on their one day off. HBH....on the h2h record slip.
I know some of those boys in Bethel are wisecrakers (my son). unofficial wine making with a WT label. Central Park filming bums sleeping with WT's as blankets. Making Tye-Dye teeshirts in the laundry Prank phone calls to GB's
boys will be boys

Toasting is wrong because.........
by Gill inso why, according to the feb 15th watchtower is toasting wrong?.
apparantly:.
'toasting today may not be viewed by many as a religious gesture.

tinker
Is that from the latest Feb 15 07 WT?
oh bother, and I really thought they may have gotton over the 'no toasting' issue. My Mom, active JW, when with non-JW family members goes right along with the clinking and drinking - bottoms up and all.

Back of the hall stragglers... were you one?
by Fleshybirdfodder inthere were mother's with babies, there were those suffering from vericose veins that had to stand up.
what about the rest of us?
in my cong there were only a few "gifted ones" who'd do sound and it was behind the literature counter (our hall was tiny).

Woo Hoo this is my first post ! I've been lurking for years. Someday I will share my story but for now I just feel like chatting.
Nope, I never hung out in back during meetings. Not even with 4small children. Husband was an elder and we wanted to 'set an example' of the perfect WT family....ha ha.....what a joke that turned out to be. Our theme was 'move around, move around at the Kingdom Hall. We sat in all different sections so we could get to know others. I would always make a point of speaking to those sitting nearby after each meeting. My problem was getting to the meeting on time, always came in late. I realize now it was a coping mechanism.
