No Religion Of Any Sort for moi. I tired "Spiritual" on for a while but the TATT applied there too. All the scales fell from my eyes and I found myself, no need for any Gods at all.

2013 Drama: "Show Yourself Attentive"
by breakfast of champions inthis is the first of three "dramas" this dc, and i have to say, it was one of the weirdest dramas ever.
i won't go through all the details.
maybe someone else wants to throw in their 2c.. it starts out with two men standing on the "beach" talking, but it took me awhile to figure out what in the hell was going on.

I am thinking about going to the convention just to see the reaction of the audiance....this rubbish has me curious!

Millions now living will never die - false prophecy yet?
by slimboyfat inrutherford wrote the booklet of that name in 1920. is that definitively a false prophecy yet?
even if everyone who was alive in 1920 survived armageddon, if it was to come today, would that amount to millions of people?
according to wikipedia there are 316,600 people who are a 100 years old or older.

My grandfather picked up the "Millions" booklet on a bus, my mother was 1yr old, she is now 94. We used to joke and praise that little Booklet because it changed the course of our family, saved us and by god was a Miricle. My mom always kept a copy of it and I often took it out and gently turned it's pages, it was such a treasure. Mom was very good at relating family stories so I pictured my grandfather on that bus, reading the booklet, with an Astonished Look on his face. She even tells that he Ran Home to tell his wife and family of this Great And Wonderful Oz....oh no, that's another story, sorry, but in my young mind that is how I pictured it.
So Grandpa is long dead, mom is 94 with dementia, lordy jeezus thank U! because she doesn't remember anything related to "millions" or Jehober at all. I made arrangements for her to live at a wonderful Assisted Living Home where they make a party of every hoilday, flag day and May Day. She loves the Happy Birthday Song and says Merry Christmas and believes in the Easter Bunny now. She just might live to 100 because her body is healty.
Sorry I got a little off topic but the Millions Now Living.....always takes me back.

you must know that I would be leading a Surfrider Team in cleaning up, picking up and doing everything I could to keep our Beaches clean and safe, if I lived nearby. For now I am far in the PNW so I do support our forest and wildlife protection groups. As a member of my local arboretum we have lots of events to teach and inform the public in how they can Save Our Trees, Forests and Wildlife.
My goal is to retire near A Beach and A Public Garden and to volunteer as a docent and insturctor to the next generation of Surfers, Skiers, Hikers and Gardeners.

nothing wrong with a Long Board, that how King Kamehameha did it. Do I remember Tar Balls, esh, I might still have stains on the bottom of my feet. Thank goodness for the cleanup. My mom would pack a picnic 5 out of 7 days a week in summer and we would head to Tin Can Beach. We liked the Cliffs and places to get out of the wind. And our HB Pier, one of the longest on the coast. Part of it was destroyed by storms in the 80's but rebuilt now. No trip to SoCal is complete until I walk the HB Pier....NOT THE Seal Beach Pier, nice but HB RULES. Watching the surfers off the pier is one of my favorite things ever. And The Wedge for waves and watching the surfers is wonderful. We used to sit on the beach and watch my brother counting the swells and waiting for the perfect curl. He had huge surf knots on his feet and knees from paddling his board. If you were lucky enough to have grown up at the Beach, you are Lucky Enough.

I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA, one block off Beach Blvd. My dad rented our garage to a Surf Board designer and maker. They later became the Ocean Pacific clothing brand. My brother was a surf bum and traveled up and down the coast and into Baja to surf. I am more of a body surfer but still, "catch a wave and you'r sitting on top of the world" is my story. If I am near a beach I am IN the water.
I will be flying my Surf Flag high on International Surf Day.
Yes, Endless Summer is still one of my favortie movies. My family gave me a copy of it as a gift and we watch it over and over. The newer verison is pretty cool too.

I may have told this story before but it's a good one. Our congo held a Talent Show, fun family recreation night. Picture this, an older, rather odd Seester, dressed in a leopard catsuit. She danced around the stage to jazz music and then lay on the floor where she had strewn leopard print slippers. She picks one of the slippers up with her teeth and begins to lick it, as a cat licks it's kittens.....YES, She LICKED the slipper. True Story, you can't make this stuff up.
and the rest of the story: all performances had to be OK'd by the elders. They gave her a Pass to do this dance and it was filmed with a video camera. Somewhere there is actual film of this Performance ?

@smiddy, I had a early 50's VW Bug with No fuel gage. Not a broken gage, Not part of the dash gages at all. I had a stick in the backseat to check the fuel level.
See Me, 18yr old pioneer, out in service, lifting the hood and using a stick to see if I had enough gas to continue to the next bible study. Still makes me smile. The VW part, not the bible study part.

Looooooooooong Prayers...
by likeabird inlet's have a bit of a laugh.. .
who of you rolled your eyes when brother never ending prayers was called up to give the closing prayer?.
who of you then proceeded to tap your feet, fidget loudly or start doing balancing acts off the back of the chair in front of you while waiting for it to end?.

not a Long Prayer story but my husband tells the story of when he was offering a prayer at the end of a home Bible Study. He was leaning over his knees, head down and eyes closed. The family dog came up under his legs and stuck it's tongue down his throat. My husband has disliked Beagles ever since.
also I remember a Franz closing prayer, around 65', Candlestick Park, San Francisco, 45min, no kiddin

I am late to the party but a good song is a Good Song. I prefer Marianne because she was the IT girl of my early years with Mick and Keith. Taylor has a gift of expersion that I cannot deny. Have you listened to her MEAN song. She captures words and has a story to tell.
STONES Rule, Mick is The Man and Keith, ah, I would still spend the night with him.
