back when i asked for advice about staying together for the kid/s, i should have listened and just gotten the divorce.

i was just too effing spineless to do it though.

How honest to be with JW Grandparents

thank you to everyone for their thoughts and opinions about leaving my son alone with his dub grandparents.

now i'm wondering how upfront with them i should be.

i have a lot of mixed emotions about this.

Let Kids see Dub Grandparents or?

my mom and dad love my son, but i also know because of the depth of their brainwashing, they won't be respectful of my parenting (as i've asked them) and will try to "plant seeds" with him.

he's only 7, loves his grandma and papa very much and is easily confused and distressed when he gets conflicting info.

since we left the dubs, we've had a couple different run-ins with my parents trying subtle and not so subtle means to get at my son, or more accurately, get at me.

For the kids is it better to stay married and miserable or...?

my husband and i would never have gotten married if we weren't both in the borg.

now we're both out and we have nothing in common.

we're having my seven-year-olds first birthday party at the local chuck e. cheese (yeah, i know but it's what he wanted).

i don't especially care, but if a dub sees us and reports us (as you know they would), can be we be df'd?

like i said, i don't particularly care, and wouldn't be sorry either.

Scriptural Proof/Support for the "New Light" doctrine?

so i've been thinking a lot about the whole new light thing - how exactly is that justified in the bible by the dubs?

i can't remember anything other than the scripture they quote but there has to be more to it than that!

every cong has them, the petty dictators who make up arbitrary rules and insist that the rank and file follow them or pay the penalty.

a couple mine had - sisters could not have skirts that were either too short (above the knee) or too long, below the mid-calf - either extreme was worldly.

also, in order to have privileges (cause there were so many wonderful and fulfilling things for women in the borg) sisters must wear pantyhose.

If You've Faded, Do You Still Consider Yourself a Dub?

i've been thinking about this a lot, because i've chosen to fade and i would never refer to myself as a jdub, but i've read postings from others who do.

i would have written a letter a year ago but i've got older parents who are upset enough about me just not attending.

on another thread someone is also leaving and they were advised to tell the jc to do whatever, to not acknowledge that they have any authority.
