  Creative Circumvention of DF Rules

  when an organization makes myriad rules regulating every aspect of living, fertile minds devise side-steps, technically non-violations.

  as with the complicated u.s. tax code, "loopholes" are found.. two cases in point most can identify with:.

  1. no need to sit, if already standing, for a national .

  TMS, you are so right when you say that genuine, faithful servants of Jehovah are trying to find a way around the directives of Jehovah's "Faithful Slave". It is against the natural love between family members, and hurts the ones who are faithful to the "Faithful Slave" as much as those who have offended the organization.

  Englishman, "The sad part is that most dubs behaviour eventually comes down to "Can I be DF'd if I do this?"" It is, sadly, very true that the poor deluded dubs spend so much time in fear of being considered unworthy by the WTBTS that they don't have time to consider whether or not God approves of the action

  incredible tale of jaw-dropping, eye-popping dishonesty from the borg!.

  my father, who continues to be in the borg, managed the construction of one of those 48-hour wonders several years ago.

  just a few months later, someone had a "welcome to the neighborhood bonfire" um, using the new kh as the bonfire.. the new hall was, of course, insured and application was duly made for payment so that another soaring, magnificent testament to man's spiritual longing could be constructed.. well.

  Liberty, your quote "The best is yet to come however, when this congregation must pay back the building loan with interest and then sign over the ownership back to the Watch Tower Society when it's all paid for" is right. To add further to this, the Watch Tower Society asked for interest-free loans from the rank and file to help with the building projects, as well as donations. It would be interesting to know if they actually paid back the loans, or whether the lenders only asked for it back in dire emergencies, feeling they would be frowned on otherwise

  The food preparation for the conventions were the best places for the young ones to meet prospective mates. It was also a very good excuse to leave our seats before the end of the sessions, and a place to chat to ones from other areas. It was much better if there was no speaker in the food preparation area, of course. We got to enjoy ourselves and feel that we were being real christians. Boy, how interesting are talks and demonstrations when doing work was more fun?

  Just a thought. According to the theory of relativity, if a man leaves earth for a time and returns, he will have aged less than those left behind. Would that apply to aliens leaving their planet (presuming they exist, of course)? Well, if we are going to look into all the realms of possibility, why not include the theory of relativity? I admit, though, that I don't really understand the theory, but it sounds good

  Hair-raising Tale!

  let's have some fun.did you find out some juicy gossip about a witness that you are just dying to blab?.

  here's one from me.. i went to a hairdressing salon for the first time and the stylist was a camp male who never stopped chatting from the second he got his gesticulating paws on my scruffy mop.. my mum who is a devout jw was sitting reading a mag waiting for me.. next thing he's telling us about his gay male friend who is a bit down because he is having an affair with a jw.

  to make things worse he is married with kids (the brother not the gay friend).. stifling my shock and trying not to look at my mum who is staring wildly and unseeingly at her mag i asked his name or address and although he didn't know the name he told us his street and district!.

  My goss isn't as juicy as yours, but here goes. An extremely wealthy elder asked a brother to fix his television. The brother was not well off, and had a family to support, but being naive, he only charged the elder for the parts, not the hours of work he put in. The elder was taken aback, he did not expect to be charged at all. Funny thing is, this elder never even gave the brother a discount when the brother bought something from the elder. No wonder he (the elder) was so wealthy

  troubled [in need of answers]

  today, i had a long, long talk with my employer.

  this person is some one who can seperate work and personal things, so after feeling like i needed to talk to someone, and soon, before i crack up, i went to her and dropped the bomb.

  she is not a witness, and because i cannot talk to a witness about what i have learned, for fear of the df'ing thingy, i feel safe in talking to her.

  zev, my heart goes out to you and your wife. Metatron's depression idea sounds good. There is one possibility that has not been mentioned. It could be that your wife won't really make you choose, but is trying to scare you into staying in the borg. As bugeye said, in her mind if she chooses you then she loses the new system and virtual immortality and a feeling of knowing certainty. She may also be feeling that your life depends on staying in the borg, so in her mind she is trying to save your life. I am not saying that I understand your wife, just that this is a possibility. Anyway, from me {{{{{hugs}}}}}. I also feel that it is better to not put in a DA letter or meet with the elders or any of that sort of rubbish.

  No, no, Anglise, you have the wrong idea. The GB are NOT infallible, they say that. The thing is that if you disagree with them you are 'running ahead and not waiting for Jehovah'. In other words, they are fallible, but you had better not let that fact cloud your judgement into thinking that ANYONE can get anything right without their permission

  i've got to tell everyone, my wife christina has just had a letter from bath spa university.. after 4 hard years of study on "inclusive learning", her dissertation has been formally approved, and as such, she is now officially an m.a.. ain't the girl done well?.

  why is it that when a catholic is excommunicated, god will send him/her to hell when they die, but if a jw is disfellowshipped, the congregation sends them to hell immediately.

  More ways to count time included taking unbaptized persons to and from the meetings. When it was to a convention or assembly, you could get hours in while travelling, and you had to go anyway.

  I knew of one pioneer brother who went to the beach at 5.30 in the morning to see who was jogging or walking on the beach. There was always someone there, so his time started really early, and so he could either have the afternoons off, or get his hours in early in the month.

  Another way to start time early was to pick up unbaptized publishers to take them out witnessing, especially it you took them either on a call or not at home before the group. That was really spiritual.
