i found out about this a couple years ago.
it was one of those shockers, that is just hard to accept when you hear about it, when you're not in the "truth".. i posed the question, "why can't they just have a daycare system setup.
seems that would be a standard setup", but one witness from bethel told me "cause it's not the responsibility of the organization to raise our kids".

YOU GOT TO BE BLANKIN' KIDDING ME!!!! Is what I thought.
That's one of the BEST functions of the WTS, is raising KIDS into the same mind control he was pitching to me.., who the heck did he think he was foolin'?
Just another Red-Flag to you lurkers out there. Wake up.
It's part of that "conditional love" system they have finely tuned to perfection.
i would like those of you former jws turned christian to post here.
specific denominations can be mentioned.
i'd just like to get an idea of how many of you there are.
Deliberately Not partaking in the Lord's Supper - Anti-Christ
Turning your back on Christ during Christmas (even thought they don't think they are, my opinion) - Anti-Christ
How can you be Christian with this?

what proactive things have you done [or intend to do] to warn others about the cult you have escaped?
the unfortunate fact of life is that we tend to look only at our own personal benefits from leaving the cult if not careful.
or we give up after a failed attempt.
I did a talk at my church in our men's group on the JWs. It was VERY interesting. Lasted 2 weeks, and got pretty heated because we had a non-disfellowshipped former elder in the group, and he still held to some of the JW doctrine. We had to end the topic because it was rolling into something different, although we weren't bashing or attacking him, just posing thoughts and questions, that got into heavy debates. I thought it went well. The guys were educated on some JW doctrine and were given insight to try and help witness to witnesses if approached.
Someone mentioned starting a brochure. I have been thinking that a good idea would be to make a small colored insert that exposes the WTS, and insert one into each Watchtower/Awake that you see stacked in those laundry mats, libraries, stores, etc.
many here say that they wouldn't want to live in a world dominated by jw's.
i understand.. i know that i wasn't always happy under their rules and way of living.
i don't like going to meetings, especially 5 a week.
I'm choosing the Heaven option, skip the new earth deal. I hear the pizza's always hot and Christ likes to share fine wine.
i'm studying with a jehovah's witness and it makes quite a bit of sense but i've been reading many topics on here and it seems that i can find every christian denomination and every religion except jehovahs witnesses.
do any jw's actually browse here?
maybe i'm just getting unlucky and picking the wrong topics where everyones discussing about how they used to be jw's.
To stillaexjwelder you wrote:
Their view that there is no trinity is total common sense.
their view that a God of love would not have a Hell Fire of eternal torment is also Total Common Sense.
I have to say that the concept of God working as 3 forms for man's salvation does make sense, even though there is some scripture that seems to clearly separate God, his "active-force" LOL, and Christ, as all being different. Much scripture also shows possible proof of the "trinity" concept and this is why biblical scholars over the centuries have put it into the playbook after much scrutiny and research of the scriptures. What makes more sense is that the majority is more correct than the minority on the subject. But we know that this is where the WTS throws in the "False religion" teachings.
Also, do you think that the God of love who slaughtered men, WOMEN & CHILDREN, in the old testament and the God of love in revelation brutily killing the balance of humans on earth makes Total Common Sense? Just wondering.
MichaelM, - Some of the best research you can do on the Watchtower Society, as some might have already said here, is to look at all the flip-flopping of doctrine and "rules" that have been made by them. They like to call it "old light" and "new light". It's really quite stomach wrenching.
Example: decades ago, the WTS printed that one never gets baptized for or by means of an organization, and is not scriptural.....then later on they changed their "Baptizing Questions and statements" to include the name of their organization and giving faith and commitment to them as a part of the baptizing ritual. It's really rediculous. The person you are studying with is just going to give you tons of excuses, and dancing around the facts to make them look good. He/She will claim that all this stuff we are telling you is just to make them look bad.
Please use your good sense in making the decision to jump head first into this. Witnesses use a line stating "make sure of all things" as the scripture says. Heed that and DO IT.
Welcome to the forum.
in some of the post i read, people say that they have never been a jw.
what makes them post on this forum?
my only guess would be because they have family or friends that are.. .
My ID name "NotaNess". Never been, but work with about 7 of them 5 days a week, 8 hour days, every year. They are half of my life pretty much. My goal is better understanding, more insight, compiling info for counter-witnessing, and I just plain love the "e-fellowship" here, although some people will never relate or accept me as they do others here, cause I can't "possibly relate" to being an ex-witness", but I understand that. I will be writing a book in the future of my experiences with them. Should be interesting.
I just bring a different perspective to the table. And I'm a Christian "false religion follower"
LOL

Leave it alone guys......enough is enough.
i have asked this question but it hasnt really been answered for me, so why do they not celebrate xmas, birthdays, etc.
sorry if its been asked but still curious, dont really understand.. .
However, even they (WTS/Witnesses) admit themselves that the wedding ring and bridesmaids etc are pagan
whether they've acknowledged it or not, they can't get around the facts. even baptism going back to the egyptians.
WTS moto..."Acknowledge some things, ignore others"
