WILL THE WATCHTOWER EVER DO THE RIGHT THING AND APOLOGIZE?
by nvrgnbk inwill this arrogant, presumptuous organization that has ruined so many lives, that loves to talk about humility and modesty, ever present a formal apology to all those who've suffered at their hands?.
would it really matter if they did?.

1995 just passed my by, I was 19 and although baptized was never much of a studier or thinker. My turning point(s) were when i told the elders about my father and he got away scot free for molesting me, losing his eldership doesn't count as punishment in my view, especially as he can get it back. and as for 911- i though ooh armageddon too, but not with alot of relish, more fear.
My turning point really and truly was AFTER i had left, when my nan died and my sister phoned to tell me that i was dead and she'd never see me again but she would see nan. I then realised that there was no true love in the borg, it is all conditional. actually most of my sisters "loving" comments over the years before i left were small turning points lol

JESUS REFUTES THE WATCHTOWER'S BLOOD POLICY
by Terry inthe watchtower bible and tract society represents itself as christian.. it represents its theology and policies as direct from jehovah god through his son, jesus christ.
further, the governing body of this corporation interposes itself between the mediator, jesus, and the rest of jehovah's (christian) witnesses for the purpose of "feeding them (spiritual) food at the proper time.. the official word of jesus christ is represented in the watchtower's policy on blood transfusions.. in 1998 this statement was made:.
jehovah's witnesses do not accept whole blood, or major components of blood, namely, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma.

Great post, very thought provoking. I just wish I could give that argument! I'm rubbish debating, but like learning bits and pieces I can possibly use if I ever get better! Thanks Terry

Is Fading a DF Offense?
by besty inwife sweet pea and i are just starting the 2nd phase of our fade, which as we are already inactive and at 50% meeting attendance, means stopping going altogether.. supposing the elders decide they want to make a shepherding call - which we naturally decline - could they announce us as 'no longer known as jw's' for declining the call, not being at meetings and being inactive?.
what if we did take the shepherding call and told the elders we just weren't coming back, with no specific reasons given?
they would be bound to ask if we still believed the fds doctrine, which we could lie about use theocratic warfare strategy and say we were just a bit depressed, with money worries, struggling with the routine etc and would probably be back soon.. thoughts?.

No its not a df offense nor is not talking to them - keep avoiding them

I NEED YOUR ADVICE...! How to tell JW mom I'm going to live with my sweetie
by Kudra inmy sweetie and i will be visiting my parents in a couple of weeks.
they know all about how much in love we are and jw mom always asks about him, how he's doing, when we first started dating she asked all about what i liked about him, how he treats me, if he's easygoing and i can have a laugh with him etc... .
so she is happy about us.

I think that as your mom is ok with your week long visits, then she will be ok with you living together and then getting married.
I knew (as you probably know) that my mom was going to be a bit upset when I moved in before i got married BUT i also knew what our relationship was like and that, more than anything, she wants me to be happy.
I think thats its a nice thought for your hubby to be to speak to your dad. sometimes being a bit old fashioned is a nice touch and means more to the parents than it does to us.
mind u, my dad didn't get asked, he didnt deserve it, wish i had a close relationship with ALL my family but unfortunately he ruined any chance of that when i was 11.

Did God ever Exist?
by found-my-way inreading so many posts on atheism which is the belief that there is no god, and reading comments from creationists made me ponder if there was an alternate reason for our existence.. if god is up there, why does he permit suffering?
if i were god, i wouldn't of let it happen in the first place, these are my children, why would i let them suffer?
maybe i am influenced by my creationist upbringing and beliefs while a jw, because i find it hard to wrap my brain around the idea that everything came from nothing.

Thats a good way to look at things if you want to believe in a creator and then take it out the picture. i don't know what i believe. hubby says that if i ever just live each day for today and quit worrying then i will feel much better.
i wasn't a nice person as a dub, i like to think i'm nicer now, but do i need a belief in god to be nice?
and i looked it up - that is how the marvel universe was created and my hubby didn't know hahaha i found out something he didnt know! w00t

by Open mind ineven though you might think it's painfully obvious, explain why you chose your avatar and/or username.
it could help us faceless "netizens" get to know each other a little better.
open mind.
