  What was your perception of cults?

  in mesquite, texas, sabrina ballantine says she was fired from razzoo's for refusing to sing happy birthday.

  she is a jw, who does not believe in celebrating birthdays and singing this song.. "razzoo's settles lawsuit over religious firing.".

  New Watchtower format is all because of Blondie!

  i was just reading a thread about the new 'exciting' format for the watchtower and how there will be a jw only edition.

  add to this what i believe is the new rule that da'd and df'd people are not allowed to receive the magazines unless they attend meetings.

  this all got me thinking.... .

  nvr, have you been reading my diaries?

  This is exactly what I used to dream about as a child. What if my mother never returned to the borg? What if there was no religion in my life?

  I'm left with:

  Being happy. I pictured a normal life with both parents, going out to have fun instead of being brainwashed, having friends, not caring about armageddon, in other words, having a life. I now look back and realise I would have taken education much more seriously so add having a good career, probably a couple of kids too.

  My observation of reality:

  You make the best of what you have. Good things can happen to good people. Be yourself, 'fakes' never really get anywhere.

  Whatever you want to believe

  i am an addict.

  and that is one good reason to back off some.

  but the overriding reason is that my nerves have been frayed lately by the actions of a hidden 'stalker', a jw who is hiding behind a cyber-curtain.

  while i was in new york i walked by two men and one looked like the comedian jackie mason whom i adore.

  i looked at him and said, "i just wanted to say how much i enjoy your shows.

  i've seen you perform a number of times".

  I once met Rocky & Habib from 'Pizza' (comedy show on oz tv about a lebonese pizza shop). They invited me to a premiere of the first episode of the new series. Bumped into them on the street again that night before the show started. They were really nice, down to earth guys.

  Mr. Brinjen is currently bragging to everyone he's helping with one of the sets for a movie set to be partially filmed around here. Starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Apparently he may even get a mentioning in the films credits. He's met most of the producers but sadly, no Nicole.

  What's the worst thing that happened but you still made it to the meeting?

  no matter if you are tired,sick,worked late,heavy snow,or any other reason,you were never to miss the meetings.

  i went to a 2 day assembly with 4 teeth pulled the day before.

  my gums were bleeding all day but i still went to the assembly .there was a brother who was in a bad car accident the week before with his daughter in a coma.

  I was a sickly kid, stayed home from meetings as much as possible. As an adult, I resented people who went to the meetings sick, to prove how faithful they were, and at the same time infect everyone else.

  Same here, always had throat or ear infections. Since I stopped attending I get one cold a year (if that), KH's are breeding grounds for bacteria (amongst other things ). I remember one Sunday meeting being cancelled on account of the KH burning down (no, I didn't start that fire). I was 7 or 8 years old at the time. It was delibrately lit, don't know if they ever caught the person (or persons) responsible and given them a medal disciplined them.

  Did You Know or Know Of "Gay" or Bisexual JWs???

  recently, a former witness expressed his opinion to me that he knew more than a few witnesses that were gay.personally, i know of a bisexual ex-elder who was unhappily married for a few years.

  now he's "out", pardon the pun, of the organization.

  i know of a newly appointed ms who is married to a sister but most people suspect he is gay.

  I knew 2 brothers that were NPG's. Another who married then 'came out' a couple of years later. Last I heard he was dating men, still kept his privleges at his local congregation (microphone duties etc). His wife was disfellowshipped because she left him (he bashed her) and admitted to sleeping with someone else.
