No, nothing like that happened to me, I hid it. Usually I was the ring leader of it all, but one of the dumber ones would get blamed for it, and my name was never even whispered. I was in the middle of ALL the action by the time I was 16, I stayed away from drugs (as a personal decision), but all of my friends were doing some "serious wrongs". We had a few shop lifters, drug addicts, whores, man-whores, alcoholics, "rage" freaks, figthers, etc. My friends were a rough crew, we would beat the shit out of ya, if you told on us, I kept things for years for people, I never squealed. When I was 18 it ALL came to a head. People in the "other" group were getting busted left and right, some of them had sex with some of us, some in my group smoked with some of them, etc. So one by one, my friends started all taking falls. I got busted for messing around with my GF, swearing, and fighting. They tried to bust me for drinking but I never drank at those parties, I only drank with my closest friends. Most of these ones that got "busted" by the elders, are still out of da Troof, I never see any of them anymore. There is one that is still a Dub, and he was one of the biggest drinkers i ever saw, constantly drinking Jack Daniels. He is now an elder and pioneer.

Even active witnesses think this is way over the top.....
by yourmomma inthere were gasps after watching this.
i heard the anti college talks at the dc this year, and while many people i know didnt agree with them, this following video stunned many of them.
there are many people on this forum, many have gotten to where they are many different ways.

Reunions.....the aftermath
by RAYZORBLADE init's hard to believe, i joined this forum five years ago (january 2003).. i was happy to join here because it appeared at the time, to be a rather sane and welcoming place.
i really enjoyed it.
like any forum; i've been on others not related to jehovah's witnesses, and you see parallels.

I talked to a couple of "old buddies" since I left, and two of them still cling to "the Troof is still the best religion out there". They were huge apologists for it, and after a while I realized that their programming was too deep and strong.

How many finally feel comfortable in their own skin?
by dinah intook awhile didnt it?.
at what point did you ever look in a mirror and thank yourself for working through this?

I certainly do, and I've only been out for a little under a year. I stopped attending in Dec. 06, and was DF'd in March 07. Of course i was "planning" my getaway for years, making more and more "worldly" friends, going to less and less meetings, service, get togethers, etc. I went to college, played guitar in bands, and just an all around easy guy to get along with. The hard part was my dad shunning me, and in the last 3 months, we've been talking at least every week.

I love Super Bowl parties!!! I love to cook, so I'm usually in charge of a couple of the "large ticket items". This year I smoked a Boston Butt, cooked a 9 pounder about 13 hours today, smoking for the first 5 hours. Then I just started my famous 16 hour beans a couple minutes ago, so they'll be ready to take for the big game tomorrow night. If I get bored tomorrow afternoon I may make a dessert too, like pumpkin bars or peach cobbler. Not sure which one yet. I know right now I just really miss my girlfriend!!! She's in KS, til tomorrow, she's visiting family and friends. So today I spent with my smoker and some Maker's Mark.

What weird and wonderful Syndromes did the bros and sisters profess to have
by myababes inwhen i was in the organisation was in a few different congs.
every one always had a good proportion of them that claimed they had "me".
not sure what they call it in the states but think chronic fatigue may be similar.it had an age range between young teenagers and midle aged ones.

Chronic Fatigue was HUGE!!! Then we had tons of people that couldn't stand any sort of scent. My own aunt had so many different, heart ailments, female issues, and fatigue it was amazing she was EVER there. My grandma was on so many drugs, for so many ailments that she was only there about 25% of the time with my PO grandpa. Personally I had a lot of "stomach issues", and many times on Thursday and Tuesday nights, I had headaches or too much stress at work, or a "last minute project", or lord only knows what else...
