Keeping donations.
by LtCmd.Lore inokay, ever since i learned the truth about the org i stopped asking householders for donations.
i don't want them to support the worldwide work, or waste their money.. but, i was just wondering what the legal ramifications would be of asking for donations... and keeping them for myself.. i realise that i would have to change what i say... i wouldn't say: "if you'd like to make a small donation to the worldwide work i'd be happy to accept it.".
because that would be illegal, like keeping charity money or something.. i'd have to say something like: "if you'd like to make a contribution to cover the expenses, i'd be happy to accept it.

Madeleine parents to meet the pope
by Adolfius injust heard on the news that the parents of the missing four year old in portugal, are going to have have a private service with the pope.
apparently god is helping them with their ordeal.. is it just me being sceptical, but how can they possibly think god is loving and caring helping them with this, when he let the tragedy happen in the first place.
so he lets a small girl be kidnapped by a paedophile, but shows his love by giving the parents the strength to cope.

Why do people hide on this site?
by Adolfius insomething i've noticed when reading the various threads on this site, is that so many people seem to be afraid.
their scared of being disfellowshipped, scared of being shunned, scared of not being accepted by the congregation, scared that people may find out they don't believe anymore, scared if anyone was to find out they use this site.
there is advice for people on how to avoid being disfellowshipped, if they may have "said too much" about their thoughts, or how to fade without being noticed.. i don't understand this.

Prince Harry not going to Iraq.................
by fifi40 inwhilst the rest of harry's regiment has been deployed to iraq, harry will not go, because the threat posed to him and those serving alongside him is 'unacceptable'.
militant groups are reported to have planned to either kidnap or kill him.. needless to say some british families are asking the question why should their loved ones have to go out to serve, why is he special.
it is answered with the emphasis being on the threat to those serving alongside prince harry.. what is your opinion?.

The Spanking Hall?
by WTWizard inchildren in the jehovah's witness religion really have it hard.
to compare, look at other churches.
most of them have sunday school, and this is geared to children that are not able to really comprehend the deeper things.

Can God see the future?
by Adolfius ini've been out a while, but i remember thinking about this as a teenager and being confused, (my mother told me i must be posessed by demons to think such things and so never offered me an explanation).
what do the jws say about it.
if jehovah can see into the future, he would've known what a mess he was going to make of creation so he would've decided against it before he even thought of it.. based on the theory that he went ahead and created everything anyway, that must mean he can't see into the future.. i also seem to remember that god doesn't interfere with man, because we have free will, so all our actions are down to us and in no way "steered" or "influenced" by god.. so how can he make predictions about the future, i.e.
