Choosing and Setting Up a Christmas Tree
by WTWizard inok, now it's getting closer to decision time.
now is the time for anyone that hasn't already decided on what kind of tree, and how to decorate it, to do so.. natural trees are popular.
they offer real scents, and they do not have to be stored.

The name Jehovah
by sweetums ini was wondering how many of you think that the name jehovah is actually correct?
to be honest with you, everytime i hear it i cringe.
i had that name shoved down my throat for the past 30 years by my witness mother-in-law.

My Grandpa Died Sunday
by noni1974 inmy grandpa died sunday afternoon.i was there in the room with him.i had to watch as he struggled to take his last breaths.it was horrific to watch.this was the second time i have watched someone in my family die.he died of prostate cancer.it was a long and painful death.i'm glad he's not in pain anymore.. at the moment i'm feeling a little emotional and upset about what i saw and all of the jw bs i had to listen too.i'm also dreading the jw memorial which is next weekend.i am planning on going.i'm da ed so i don't expect anyone to come up and talk to me or express there sorrow to me.the thing is i feel like i should be comferted and people should tell me they are sorry i lost my grandfather.i lost someone who i had alot of respect for all of my life regaurdless of how close we were after i da ed.i think i'm going to be excluded at the dinner after.they are planning a reception type thing for after the service.
i'm glad i did get the chance to see him and talk to him before he got really sick.i had the chance to go to dinner with him and my parents and a couple of my aunts a few months ago.when he was leaveing he asked me pointedly for a hug.he said he was collecting them.i hugged him and said i loved him.that was the last time i saw him till i went to my aunts house where he was staying just before he went into hospice.the next time i saw him was 3 weeks ago when he entered hospice and wasn't expected to live the night out.then i saw him sunday i arrived about 20 to 30 minutes before he took his last breath.he was creamated this week and will be buried with my other family in our family plots soon.. anyway i'm just in need of some kind words of support at the moment.i though that jwd would give that to me even though i don't post here that much.it really sucks to feel alone at times like this..

Jehovah Witnesses and inheritance
by sweetums ini am not a witness but i would like to ask you a question.
is it common practice for jw's to will all of their "worldly" possessions to witness relatives only?
are they encouraged to do so by the borg?

Common Refrigerator at work - keeping what's ours
by Jim_TX inwhere my wife and i work, they have a refrigerator in the break room.
it's used for temporary storage of employee food items - for lunch, and in some cases for butter or other perishable items.. it's easier to take a tub of butter and leave it at work for spreading on toast, than it is to take a tub of butter in to work, use it, then take it home in the evenings.. well, we take a few things like the above mentioned tub of butter (not margarine), bottles of water, and sodas.
we usually put our initials on the top of the bottles (which is a pain - but necessary), and place them in a certain location in the refrigerator.. the water and sodas, go inside the door at the bottom, all grouped together.

JWs and Love towards their families
by R.F. inthis is something that just popped in my mind suddenly.. but i was thinking about over the years the many comments of jws about loved ones.
for instance, one sister was speaking of her disgust with her children not accepting the "truth".
she gladly tells anyone of what she told them; that if they don't accept it before armageddon that it's too bad.

How Did Being Referred To As A Brother Or Sister Make You Feel?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #009933; } .style2 { font-family: arial; font-size: 16px; color: #009933; } .style3 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .style4 {font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: italic; } --> how did being referred to as a brother or sister make you feel?the term brother always reminded me of being in some militant or holy roller religion.
during my tenure as a jehovahs witness, i brought it to the elders attention to refer to .
me by using my first or last name when addressing me.
