Have a great trip! Who knows, Some of us might run into both of you when you visit Skagway!

think about it.. you have to be interviewed (baptismal prep questions).
you have to enter a contract (the two baptismal questions).
everyone has a job description and job requirements (ministerial servants, elders, co, po, pioneer, publisher).
Not only was I, from birth, and my father, mother, brothers and sisters, as Jehovah's Witnesses, employee's of the WTBTS Corporation with a deferred ‘income’ scheme payable only once one ‘snuffed it’, we were also, by far, the major consumer of its products because regardless of who's dusty shelf or trash can the WTBTS bi-monthly magazines and hard cover publications ended up in, the fact is, every nickel was 'donated' or paid in advance, using our own after-tax, cold-hard cash.
The final irony, now that over the years the WTBTS has reached a state of financial self-perpetual motion, there appears to be less of a corporate need for families such as ours for little else than retaining a sufficient number to be used to maintain the corporation IRS tax-free 'religious' status on revenue generation.

we were driving in her car a couple of weeks ago, (the night i have visited her kh) and she told me, that she was going to postpone her november trip to italy; instead, she was thinking about going when the new system was here.
i asked her amusedly: "are there going to be airplanes on the new system?"...
she responded: "well.... we are going to be using our 100% of our brains".
and she told me, that she was going to postpone her November trip to Italy; instead, she was thinking about going when the New System was here
Yad’, although you didn’t provide your daughters age, my first intuitive response to the above quote was; something else in her life, other than a trip to Italy, is being perceived, by her, as more of a priority.
Depending on her age, it just might be possible, she's either thinking about trying to get ‘hitched’, acquiring a mortgage, or thinking that international travel might be a little risky right now.
I suspect her excuse of, and actual belief in, “…waiting for the WTBTS version of a ‘New System’ ™…” is a crock, but, as usual, must keep up the approved WTBTS corporate appearance if she wishes to remain desirable amongst her peers of Jehovah's Witnesses.

all you have to do is take a few days off from work, the rest is a piece of cake.
Good one!...one.

i am new to this forum, but i have been lurking for a while.
you all seem pretty friendly, i hope you will be nice to me even though i am still a jehovah's witness.
i wonder if you all have heard about the new arrangement for putting in field service reports.
…I hope you will be nice to me even though I am still a Jehovah's Witness.
Welcome the’, I know how you feel as my parents demanded I be raised a Jehovah’s Witness. But I think you’re missing the point, now that you’re here.
It’s not what corporations products or publications an individual believes to be the correct ones to ‘flog’ that causes a self fulfilling negative reaction during conversation in this regard.
But rather ill-informed or disingenuous expressions one uses in the attempt to justify, why, one follows a self-professed ‘religious’, private American corporation that uses its adherents to suit its own corporate financial desires.

i' so tired of this.
sometime, i'd just like to say goodbye cruel world but, it would be too easy to do this.
when i was in the borg, they were telling me that when someone go out of the org, he have a lot of problems and that's exactly what happen to me.
…I'm wondering why the hell do I have to live on this earth if it's just to be a jerk with no social life.
Nic’, if you don’t have a social life, how’s it possible persons that don’t exist would think you a jerk?
On the other hand, you might agonize that you don’t have a social life because you believe others have found you to be a jerk.
The reality is, almost all individuals have their own mountain of worries, and they really don’t dwell on anyone else's for any length of time.
You're here and you fit, so quit wasting time figuring out whether you're a 'square peg' and contribute to your community by finding someone and/or something to love.

i'm extatic .
my husband is stepping down as an elder tomorrow.
how do you guys think that will go?
Something wrong with a religion that defines leadership in terms of the harm it does to the family...
Oh well, guess I'm preaching to the choir....
Whether you’re ‘preaching to the choir’ or not, it’s a good point nonetheless, carmel.
Your comment raises the question, how does one define the term ‘religion’? Does that term include the word ‘business’ and do the WTBTS Corporation and Jehovah’s Witnesses fit a ‘business’ profile.
If the WTBTS and Jehovah’s Witnesses are actually in the ‘business of religion’, and who in the ‘religious’ genre isn’t, then what harm the corporations methods of enterprise may cause the family is simply the price of doing business in the quest for asset growth.
Just as in the case of a producer of shoddy, deceptive and at worst, dangerous products, it’s the ‘choir’ of consumer and consumer advocates who must expose the harm done.

at this late, middle stage of my life, i've started wondering, now that i know what i know, about the things in my life that i "lived" with.
having been raised all my life in the "borg" i have known nothing else.
when questions began forming years ago, it started me thinking.
As a kid being taught to be both an unpaid worker for the WTBTS Corporation and consumer of its publications by becoming a Jehovah's Witness, I was always happiest on Saturday's when it was raining...the harder the better.
I could go on, but every poster on this thread is ‘me'.

sorry it's been some time since i posted but i was busy rearranging my life.
just wondering what the general consensus is among posters on this board to this question, is death the end of existance, or a portal to a new reality?
my 2 cents, death is only the beginning of a new reality.
is death the end of existance, or a portal to a new reality?
Death, as a portal to a new reality is equal to validating, by other than hearsay, ones existence immediately prior to becoming a viable zygote.
However, to convincingly embellish the unverifiable, is potentially more profitable and definitely less boring.
