You're talking about that egotistical, ferocious, warlike, primitive, land-grabbing weather god of the ancient Hebrews? The real God who lives and "rules" at the center of all things needs no "people" for his name; all sentient beings are "his" anyway - for all who are led by God's Spirit are God's children.

im intrigued by the jws teachings re the 144,000 and i would much appreciate some input.. i mean, is their any real scriptural back-up to say that a set number of people will go from earth to heaven, or is this just a witness interpretation thing?.
also, how does this remnant become aware that they have a calling?
does the wtbts tend not to persecute these ones, if they hold views that would be deemed as apostate in others?.
"Their" is no meaning to the twisted dreams of an old man in his dotage writing about things he didn't understand, interpreted by old men in their dotage who have an agenda, for an organization of people who have no insight.
Since we're dealing in opinions, it's mine that when we die we go to the next rung on an almost infinite ladder, at the top of which is the center of all things and the "location" of God.
The twelve dozen means nothing. Complex theologies mean nothing. We die; we go to the next step; and we continue thus with our universe career, an all but eternal cosmic adventure. What FUN!! I can hardly wait.

Well now Chuck, you seem to want it both ways. Either Guilani is a moral Nazi worthy only of your contempt or he's a life-saver for this issue you feel is a moral outrage.
To condemn the man for his moral position on the one hand, but be willing to use that facet of his moral Nazism in pursuit of something you're in favor of is nothing but hypocrisy pure and simple.
As far as I can tell Guilani has something you don't: public moral constancy. (And don't bother posting about his private marital situation. Not unless you also favor policing moral behaviors of individuals.)

i notice amount several jw that a deep kind of fear are a long time partner in the jw person.
this combine with a at long times experience of ignoring facts is why many stays even they see a lot of changes from the borg and sometimes even bad things .
Fear of the Lord may be the beginning of wisdom, but it is certainly not the middle or the end.
Just as a small child may at first fear its parents, especially its father, with increasing maturity the child learns that fear is an inappropriate reaction to a loving father.
Individuals, as well as religions, who reverence fear as a motivator disclose their utter immaturity. And any religion that seeks overtly or covertly to influence their membership using fear as a motivator are not worthy of the attention of an intelligent, mature person.

I've posted all I know about it to her privately as she requested. As noted by other responders, some of her ideas about insurance may not be as universally applicable as she seems to think.
Besides, if there were a little known, seldom used, byzantine, back-door, less-than-straightforward approach to something like this, you can be sure the Borg would be on it like a chicken on a Junebug.
And to the responder who wanted to know if it was known that the Borg was co-insuring; no. The "co-insurer" was not known. My father was grumbling for weeks about who this co-insurer could possibly be and promising that as soon as they found out, they were going to come down on them like a ten-thousand pound gorilla. first of all i would like to congratulate everyone who takes time out to enlighten the rest of us regarding hypocritical jw's.we all know someone who is not quite the person they portray themselves to be at the meetings, that "wolf in sheeps clothing" so to speak.this brings me to my point:-.
is there any reason why we cannot name these individuals?.
i would love to tell all my ex-congregationial associates about mr ........ and mrs ........,but i am not in a position to, or am i??.
There is also the question of slander and libel. JWs are not public figures and thus may be protected by law in this area.
Even the JWs have modified how they announce DFs, DAs, etc. from the platform to avoid this very liability.
The identity of everyone on this board is discoverable via court action.
I love the idea, but I'm not willing to accept any exposure in its pursuit.
