Religions similar to JWs.
by LtCmd.Lore indoes anyone know of any religions that are very similar to jehovahs witnesses?.
it tends to come up in discussions with them a lot, they like to think that they are the only ones that don't believe in hell, the trinity, that jesus died on a stake, that they won't go to heaven, or stuff like that.
i could probaby just prove them wrong, but that would take forever and it would be a lot easier to just say: "you're not as unique as you think...".

Dinah
by hilannj indid anyone ever notice that it is only jws that use the story of dinah's rape to be a warning for young girls to avoid 'bad association'.
most other religions focus on the reaction of her brothers (they killed the whole town) or that it was possibly two kids having sex which is bad also.
but as far as i can tell it is only jws that see it as a rape that was dinah's fault.

Has being a Witness made it hard for you to love Jesus?
by jwfacts inwhenever i hear the word jehovah i still feel warm and fuzzy.
he was the god that i spent hours talking to in prayer, petitioning, thanking, pleading with.
he was my father, the creator, the one who we would worship for eternity.. jesus on the other hand i never spoke or prayed to.

Goodbye, my sweet sister
by sweetface2233 ini was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.
i have hated every moment of it.
after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.

Baptized at 12 years of age
by Frequent_Fader_Miles ini recently had a very interesting conversation with an online friend.
she was baptized at 12 years old because her 15-year-old boyfriend was baptized, and she wanted to spend time with him.
pioneering was the only option, so she got baptized.

Just out of curiousity, anyone under 15?
by LtCmd.Lore ini was just curious... it seems that everyone comes to this site at age 17 or older.
i first looked at this site at age 16 if i recall correctly.
and i've never seen a 15 year old or younger here.. is there anyone here younger than that?

Do You Still Act Like A Jehovah's Witness?
by prophecor ini'm not very far removed, any longer from how i presented myself as a witness, and how i do today.
i'm usually polite, cordial, respectful of others, even those who i may have very little regard for or those who on a regular basis, piss me off.
i work very hard not to use foul language.
