  Yep, it seems that with every technological advance, the WTS has to slam it in some fashion. I've noticed that, while these things used to be accused of being SATANIC, it seems that nowadays, the emphasis is put on how it "takes away time" from serving God ......the bOrg.

  Personally, although I COULD live without all my tech.....I would'nt want to. God gave us a brain for a reason. We should'nt be criticized for using it.

  Best of your getting out of field service story

  i thought it would be fun if we all shared some of our best ways of circumventing our field service time.

  i have some funny ones and then interesting one where i realized what a lot of the higher ups were doing in the "field" service.. my best one was with my brother and i, when they made us "work together" and went to different streets.

  we would go to one door, walk real slow and not do another door on that street, not one.

  Layla33, I agree with that one. Want to fluff in the mininstry? Hang with an elder, or better yet, a circuit overseer.

  They have so many built-in excuses for cutting it short, it's ridiculous.

  Tardiness and opening prayers ....

  i'm sure everyone remembers the "stellar" prayers that are offered from the platform before the start of the meetings.

  at one point, it was customary for the brother to pray that jehovah "hasten the feet" of those on their way to the meetings.

  after all, with family responsibilities etc.

  I remember it being said that "to be late for the meetings was a sign of selfishness"....being more concerned with how you spend "your" time rather

  than "giving" it to others at the hall through fellowship.............well, count me selfish then.

  Do women REALLY want their husbands to be their best friends, talking of their fears, hopes, and desires?.....OR does this have the unfortunate

  effect of taking the "mystery" and "strong, silent type" aspect away..... and eventually, your interest in your husband?

  Yep. Them crazy Chinese do this last year WITHOUT notifying anyone, leaving the space equivalent of the EXXON VALDEZ......and THEN bitch about US doing the same thing. At least our pieces are football sized and will burn up in the atmosphere.
