  now that most of the major news sources are saying that the usa is already in a recession - will there be a run on the banks like there was in the uk in the fall?

  i know that the government insists that will never happen because they insure your funds up to a specific amount but so far already two banks have reduced the amount of money that you can withdraw from your account.

  they say its because of increased theft from their atm machines but who's really willing to buy that excuse?

  if babylon the great is the false religion, why does someone in heaven call them "my people"?

  does this mean that god has followers in other religions?

  All religions have this mixture. There are some true loving spiritual people who are referred to as "My People". They are being admonished to get out of all false religions, organizations, etc.

  "My People" are those that worship the Creator in Spirit (actions) and Truth (speech).

  The first reaction to truth is hatred.

  A man better have one foot in the stirrup when he tells someone the truth.

  when you tell the truth people will call it hatred (i.e. Apostate lies) but it does not change the truth. What God wants is for you to tell the truth (but don't expect to win a popularity contest.)

  "Because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved." (and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion (i.e. wts and others) that they should believe a lie. 2 Thessolonians 2: 9-12

  NEVER SACRIFICE TRUTH FOR UNITY.

  This is what spiritual warfare is all about.

  i hope some of the language is not offensive to anyone.. ----------------------------.

  holy spirit conversations stoppers.... if someone asks why certain decisions are made in the congregation, perhaps you could say.... "jehovah's holy spirit is "guding and directing" the body of elders.".

  What do JW's do to help the poor & needy at this time of year, or ever?

  just about every church i know of does something for the poor and needy around this time of year, who are not necessarily christians or members of their church.

  from helping prisoners to delivering food hampers to visiting the lonely and elderly to helping poor people and children overseas, most churches i'm aware of do at least something to materially help the suffering in the community, home and abroad, regardless of their religious orientation.

  many of these churches have programmes providing such assistance all year around, even many catholic churches.. but what do the jw's do to actually practically help the suffering and poor at this time of year, or ever?

  The JWs I know make fun of the other groups that help people this time of year.

  They say things like "Look at that pretense. That group thinks that the hungry and homeless only need a turkey dinner once a year. That will solve the world's problems. Just give them a nice turkey dinner and send them back out to the streets!"

  The JWs I know say those groups who give the food pkgs., dinner and gifts ONCE A YEAR are only assuaging their own guilt so they can enjoy their own holidays. They say what the org. is doing for people is giving them hope in their life which no one else can do. The message for a resurrection hope...blah blah blah. Which is a greater gift than a turkey dinner and a toy train.

  Baloney, I say. And I read them the scripture:

  matthew 25: 37 "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

  40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

  But they still don't seem to get it. It's like they have a mind block.

  So, basically, what the JWs do to help the poor and needy at this time or any time is NOTHING. But yet they put down and criticize those who DO try to help others.

  i did a thread on this about a month ago in a humorous way - so i figured i would do it again to see how things went for you during the christmas holiday season.

  hopefully my off-beat sometimes humorous, sometimes insane, sometimes serious advice helped you.

  Mr. Flipper...Talk to me about demons.

  I always thought the demons had names like: "the spirit of anger", the "spirit of jealousy", the "spirit of alcohol".

  So really, is the spirit to blame or is there any personal accountability?

  Are demons more than these things? I mean like what's the deal with Jesus sending demons into pigs who then jump off the cliff. Are demons actual entities like life forms?

  I think I have gotton a demon from some JWs I know. It's the "spirit of not getting the point".

  Help me if you can.
