  i have a good friend who is a jw as some of you might recall.

  i am a born again christian, so faith wise we are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

  however, i believe god has opened a door with him and our opposing beliefs do not affect our friendship.

  Hello Stephen. I was wondering what was the cause of death? Was it natural causes? I had a friend from some time ago who perished at 37. It was a heart attack. I believe it was from excessive living.

  Anyway it is sad to hear of the loss of someone at that age. Your friend, if you believe, is now on his journey to a happier place.

  Sports.....

  anyone know the current view on school sports...that was a big issue for me(it was a big no-no).

  i have lost touch over the last 9 yrs.

  it seemed they started going the use your concense route because some of my dub friends started to play.

  Comical Memories While You Were A Witness

  in all the years i was a witness, i must admit there were some pretty funny things that i can remember.

  i can't forget the time after i had given a public talk and the sister who played the piano ran from the bathroom to the piano with half of her dress still tucked in her pantyhose.

  brothers and sisters were trying in vain to run down the long aisle but to no avail.

  I NEED TO VENT

  for the past weeks, i have gotten in touch with a lot of old high school classmates.

  a lot of them i've found over the internet.

  after reading their profiles and talking to them, to my surprise, a lot of them are professionals with degrees like doctors, engineers, business, etc.

  I mentioned about senior citizens earlier. Just to let all know, I mean no disrespect to seniors, it's just that after working for 35 years, I realized that all work makes me a dull boy. After a long period of backbreaking work, your payout should be a wonderful retirement. Learning is an ongoing process, but getting up when you want to is much better than 9-5 'till you croak. My FIL died a few years ago before he could retire at 64.

  my dissfelowshipped hub not happy about our child visiting grandma

  i have finally got grandma to agree to seeing her grandchild , and hubby does not want it , he thinks that if she cant be bothered to make time for her then i should not chase it up , this is his mother , im not a dub , i can see his point but think it important to try and keep in contact .

  any advice?

  LooLoo: you must do some research of Theocratic Warfare. Learn why it is important for the Witnesses to lie to create a convert.These drones believe it's a key to their salvation.

  The sad part is that if people were simply allowed out with NO STRINGS, I think people here and elsewhere would not have such a problem with them.

  Disfellowshipping and shunning is sinful-at least the way they do it. It destroys families.

  I believe that most faiths do not practice this crap. The ones that do are Islamists and Mennonites and Mormons and more. Does that not make you want to give all of this a second thought?

  By the way. Please look at page 13 of this months Watchtower (which was kindly offered to me at home yesterday ).

  On that page it completely misquotes the verse of John 3:16. If the Witnesses want to get it right, they have to admit that the way to the Kingdom is through Jesus, not through a dozen old farts connected to a real estate org (if you believe in the story at all)

  You have the final choice, but please believe what we say. You won't regret it.

  I would agree with Gary, except I would add another zero to his range. 1000 miles seems more appropriate. Children are prey for Witnesses-they are programmed to repeat their doctrine even after being told to refrain. If the Witnesses think it's ok to shun, then the rest of the world should shun them .

  I am 100 percent serious about this-shun the bastards! They hurt and kill and rape.

  Damn I need a break today. Time for a walk and lunch. See you all later.

  First-welcome to the forum raindog.

  Cindy-welcome ! I don't know your age, but as long as you are not yet a senior, I can suggest there is time to get the education you want and need. Even if formal education is out of the question, libraries, and the 'net are excellent resources to find what you need.

  You cannot accomplish what you want as long as you continue to dwell on your past. I had to let go of all the juvenile stuff from decades ago, and get the diploma I so needed to survive.

  this is just an example of how the uber-dubs shun all of society.. my daughter and her best friend went skating the other night.

  my cousin's daughter (who is still a jw) was there.

  I thought a Witness could only shun people who were baptized and subsequentially disfellowshipped? Maybe in this case it's also about bad association. That does not answer why the Dubs were at my door yesterday. I would refer to myself as a bad association because I can think for myself. Next time I will inform them I am on bad sites getting misled!
