I Got this Parrot

i got this parrot from a friend who used to be a jw and i don't know if i can keep him (i think he is a he) because he has a nasty habit that i can't break him from.. he is driving me crazy with his nasty habit.. i am having a hard time going to sleep even though i cover his cage at night.. does anyone have any suggestions other than cooking him in the oven?.

i really don't want to get rid of him but something has to be done... soon.. .

a recent post by jcanon (of all people, lol) jogged my memory and brought back (repressed?

) memories from when i was just a kid.

i remembered that i was constantly thinking - thinking of all that i learned as a jw (and at school/elsewhere), but i was always able to look at it from "outside the box" even as a kid.

No I was a sucker but I started as an infant. Now I don't believe Jehovah is the correct name. Don't quite know how to pray..."in Jesus' name" or just "aloha" but I still can't give up the prayer. Think there is a Creator but is non gendered (would make me very happy if it were a woman). Don't think god is interested in us. Like the directer of the Body Farm at the University of Tennessy said , "We have made God in OUR image".

Anyone feel lonely at holidays?

i do, i think my husband does.

everyone we know now has family to be with at tg or xmas.

we really love going all out for the holidays, but in the end it's a little disappointing and sad.

Always. Last year I thought of seeking out the Druids since my bd is on that night but I figured they'd be worse freaks than you know what.

im new to your website and im very thankful i have found it.

i was born and raised a witness but managed to get myself out after highschool and havent been back for five or six years.

now that i have a family of my own im totally confused.

I'm with Gopher here. I don't decorate. Thanksgiving doesn't bother me in the least (you can tell I am not Native American or a Turkey) In fact I try to work on holidays (more $$$$$) but if I had kids it would have been a different story...just for them. Things only have the meaning/power you give to them.

it's the story of a man and his son after the world had been destroyed (they never say how or by whom).. good book but a real "downer".. changeling.

Yeah, I read it. The thing is IT COULD HAPPPEN. Waiting for the movie. Read "Water for Elephants". Really good book and happy ending.

I have read almost all of Mr Kings books (except the Tower series) and I find him brilliant and funny. Just when you think he has gone as far as human thought would go, he revs up and does a triple play. I don't know what it is but scary stuff is funny to me.

Thank you for posting he comments because it really shows that he is aware, brilliant, funny, and responsible.
