after 15 years of being disfellowshipped, she told me that she reinstated one month ago.

today was the first of the two parter series on browbeating the inactive to get back to the meetings.. my other half who has been inactive for a short while received an email from a "friend" who's still in, acknowledging it's been a while since they last made contact and could they stop by to see how we're doing?.

the moment of truth - friends who ignore you and make no effort to contact you when you leave suddenly get a guilt trip over an article in the watchtower.. anyone else here had their door bell rung, received a phone call or email from a "concerned" friend due to this study article, or is it still early days?.

What is the average age of those who no longer believe?

i have been reading many posts today and some of you have mentioned your age and how long you have been away from the org.made me start wondering what the average age is for most on this site who no longer go along with the org.

OMG Oompa!

I just realized I have always been able to go to my Parents with ANYTHING that bothered me…but not this). When you are in that situation...and oh how many I have seen like that here....then you REALLY need someone to talk to. You need friends who understand what you may be going through…and I found them on JWD...and nowhere else.

There is no better way of describing how this Forum has helped us! When your own blood, your family, just get scared when you talk, and their reaction is to "let the Elders know", is when you realize that "the Truth" (tm) is really a cult. There is no reasoning, no bible counsel, NO LOVE. Even the love of the family is conditioned by this Organization.

It's been a difficult awakening, but JWD has helped us a lot.

New JW hobby when going to the KH

so now that i am mentally out ( but still chained for family reasons ) i need to find some hobbies to do while at the meetings.. i would like to do some things that will disrupt the meeting, but without getting caught.

for example, i would love to screw with the sound system while people are commenting ( particularly the elders ).

any ideas?.

I used to do the same!! The KH had all the "Rutherford Rainbow" books in the library, JW in the Divine Purpose, 3 Kingdom Interlinear versions, and much more!

I had the opportunity of seeing a lot of stuff with my own eyes...

At that time, I was in charge of the WT study, and I used to spend the first 45 min meeting in the Library. :)

I haven't returned to the KH for more than 6 months, and I don't miss it!

Toe Rings

i remember when toe rings were considered a big no no when i was a younger adult.

a couple of us ventured out and got them anyway.

we were considered a little weak - tho the ring never actually affected us in anyway.

Ankle chains are always an issue, specially in Spanish speaking congregations here in the US. Even CO's talk agaist them in their speeches sometimes! The absurdity never ends in the WT...
