I first ran into E-Watchman's website in late 2006. I accidentally stumbled onto it while searching for a JW-friendly forum. For the next few months after that, I kept reading E-Watchman's articles and fought with trying to decide if he was right or not. I would read into the Bible certain things that weren't there. Eventually I found some websites that exposed him as a fraud, and I didn't know where to turn.
In April/May of 2007 I was at the KH and we were going over the one article praising the GB for all it supposedly does, especially in bringing in the "great crowd" and supposedly showing them all of their "great truths". I could see through the presumptousness of it all... Then I found a website that had nothing but Watchtower quotes from all of its magazines/books. I began to see all of the failed prophecies and cover-ups. This is what really helped me.
I finally found Freeminds.org in the summer of 2007, and all of the articles under the "History", "Doctrine", and "Prophecy" sections helped me come to terms with what I learned.
Late in 2007 I finally ran into this forum, JWFacts.com and a few others. Reading CoC sealed the deal for me and brought me some peace. It confirmed everything I had read.

Why does the WTBT Society exist?
by Princess Daisy Boo inthey don't really have the truth so it can't be that?
unless "they" at the top truly believe it - do you think they do?.
is it for monetary gain?

Compound Complex nailed it. That's the whole reason they're preaching, in fact, that is still the basic core of the message. That message is also buried underneath all of their false prophecies, strange interpretations, and ever-changing "new light" on what the hell "this generation" actually means. LOL
Most of all, I think the GB are just deluded, Captives of the Concept that they are IN God's only organization on Earth. With delusion comes the greed to have power over the people...

No one else fulfills the preaching of Matt 24:14
by passwordprotected inas explained to me recently, only jehovah's witnesses are actively fulfilling matt 24:14, thus showing them alone to be the true religion.
sidestepping the glaring issue of jesus stating that love would mark the identity of true christians, let's examine that notion.. .
i have personally rebutted that opinion by stating, with accuracy, that many christians have a gospel ministry and manage to reach hundreds of millions of people across the planet with their message.. .

There is an interesting article on the Freeminds website that talked about how the WT is against "expanding". Instead of taking advantage of the latest technologies to preach their version of the "good news", they prefer to stay in the dark and keep on going door-to-door.
I can't remember what the article is called at the moment..

by Newborn inall those in the org who claims to belong to this class, are they just imagining it?
this has always been one of the big proof for me that this was the "truth".
that there actually are those who have the heavenly calling...it confuses me.... appreciate your thoughts on this.. have anyone in this forum, previously, claimed to belong to this group and can explain it, how it feels etc.?.

I wondered about this exact same thing. I have yet to meet an "anointed" person to ask them.
I currently think that they are all just imagining it, simply because all of the "anointed" (with the exception of the GB) depend on the GB members for "spiritual food". If the "FDS" interpretation is correct (which it's not), then Jesus would be dispensing his knowledge to all of the "remnant". Since that doesn't happen, then it's gotta be made up.
Can anyone else clarify?

I read Ray's first book last November. It was really an exhilirating experience to see what exactly went on "behind the curtains" of the Watchtower (at least what took place in the 70's and 80's). I equate it to taking the red pill and finding out just how deep the rabbit hole really goes. It shattered my faith in the WT Organization but since then I've relied more on God and Jesus than ever before.
I highly recommend his second book, too. I'm about halfway through it, and it is some heavy, worthwhile reading. I find it fascinating to read about the actual discussions between all of the GB members.

I don't get it either. They must be up to something to try to pool in all the money. (Yes, I used the word 'pool', instead of 'pull'.)
Why try to make even MORE money? Why not let each and every single JW rely solely on God's Word the Bible?
Oh, that's right. I forgot it takes a magazine to explain everything and keep everything out of context...

I don't agree with this. They get to be mega-star tennis players, but if any local microphone boy decides to pursue "higher learning" at a university, he is looked down upon...
WTF?

Riddle me this about Acts 7:59.
OK, so last night I pulled out the 1985 Kingdom Interlinear and just started perusing through it. After a while, I arrived at Acts 7:59 where Stephen "appealed" to Jesus. This is what I also found:
-In the 1985 edition, they used the word "appeal", BUT with an asterisk next to it. The asterisk leads you to a footnote, and the footnote states something like this: 'or "invocation, prayer" '.
But:
-In the 1969 edition, they also used the word "appeal", with no footnote.
-The NIV bible uses the word "prayed".
So my question is this: Did the Watch Tower shoot themselves in the foot by adding this little footnote to their 1985 edition? Because according to the May 15, 2008 WT, page 31, they posed this question/answer:
Was Stephen praying to Jesus? No, he was not. One's worship-and therefore one's prayers-should go only to Jehovah God. (Luke 4:8; 6:12) Under normal circumstances, Stephen would have appealed to Jehovah in the name of Jesus. (John 15:16) In this instance, though, Stephen had a vision of "the Son of man standing at God's right hand." (Acts 7:56) Fully aware that Jesus had been given the power to resurrect the dead, Stephen spoke, but did not pray, directly to Jesus, asking Him to safeguard his spirit. -John 5:27-29.
(I also noticed that they capitalized the word "Him" instead of just "him" when they referred to Jesus in the above paragraph... isn't that also odd? I thought they only did that when referring to Jehovah.)
