  the DEMONS !!

  there is constant talk about sex here, false prophecy, preaching work etc.. but noone talks much about the demons.

  i know i was frightened of them.my entire youth, every night, was spent engaging in paranoid little rituals to protect me from the demons.. watchtowers under the pillow, lights on, bible open by the bed.. and me wide awake listening to every tree branch creak, every board crack as the house setlled for the night.. i still have problems (occassionaly) even now.. who was terrified of the demons??

  Losing my Religion......

  well at 29 years old, after a lifelong relationship/belief in/association with a higher power i called god, here i am very close to taking an athiestic or agnostic approach to the rest of my life.

  it really hit me the other day although my doubts have been there but i just have been forcing myself to ignore them because i was afraid to give up that religious part of me because its all that i have ever been and i was afraid of the unknown.

  but i realized after getting through another one of those weeks from hell that it makes no difference how much i pray or how much i believe.

  The Ransom paid

  does the jw theory on the ransom balance.

  the jw theory ransom issue is likened to a hostage situation where a ransom price is paid in order for the captive to be released,when adam lost perfection and brought misery and turmoil for mankind ,the price was to high for anyone to pay except perfect jesus,he brought back mankind,or more specifically those who believe in him.. ok,so the ransom is paid,it was paid nearly 2000 years ago so why is none of mankind seeing any physical benefits now,the jws see this as buying back earthly perfection,and not as a benefit to be seen on after giving up adams flesh upon death,so if something is paid for why does mankind including those who believe keep suffering as though it has not been,why does it have to wait for some future date,why is suffering prolonged when the scales are already level?.

  are hostages still held captive even though the price has been paid?

  The ransom is one of the most illogical theories I have ever seen. It is on of the primary doctrines that made me become who I am...

  My big issue is that it is supposedly based on the divine law of justice which is consistent across the whole universe. Ask any religionist-Christian and they will agree to the definition. Another important facet if they don't agree with the definition that still shows the logic/reasonableness flaws is that "God made/makes the rules". If it is a divine law that applies to the whole universe there is the following issue:

  Why does it only apply to humans? Why could there not be a corresponding ransom for what Satan lost? A perfect angel for a perfect angel...

  So is it a divine law that applies to all beings in the universe or is it localized to mankind?

  Is that why when the angels sinned they don’t get a restricted lifetimes but instead get to have a party spanning hundreds and thousands of years?

  From here we get into the whole issue of foreknowledge....omniscience, omnipotence....it quickly becomes a big spider web full of twists and flaws. When you look at the concept in its entirety and examine it all I have no idea how anyone can believe it.

  often, i try to appear as someone else and the result is that i am shy because i have the fear of the judgement of the other people.

  how did you redefined yourself when you got out of the org?.

  Try this or perhaps you have tried it or perhaps it happened coincidentally.

  Next time you are in the bathroom....have the light turned on bright...now go close to the mirror and look at your own eyes...look at the color and the pupil...do you see yourself watching yourself?

  Is it scary?

  Can you watch yourself in the third person? If so who is really watching?

It then fines you for polution because your drain empties into a new wetland the inspectors 'discovered' while inspecting your paperwork, and bans the keeping of livestock on your land and requires you to sell your cows at low prices to a corporate giant who grazes them on public lands.

  CAPITALISM
  You don't have any cows. The bank will not lend you money to buy cows, because you don't have any cows to put up as collateral.

  PURE ANARCHY
  You have two cows. Either you sell the milk at a fair price or your neighbors try to take the cows and kill you.

  AMERICAN CORPORATE CAPITALISM
  You have two cows that are bloated with toxic steroids like BST. They are set out to graze on privatized public parks, release massive amounts of flatulence that destroys the ozone layer, they die from excess ultraviolet light, and are processed into meat-like products that look great as a result of clever chemistry and unprincipled marketing strategies. You mortgage your artificially devalued farm at high interest rates in order to buy meat, and go to work for the corporation who bought your dead cows. You consume the poisoned material the corporation is marketing and an ensuing terminal illness develops because there is no health care plan to treat you. The corporate management uses your purchase price to acquire THEIR meat from cows raised "naturally" on tree-free rain forest land outside of the country where labor and resources are cheap.

  in my religious and cultural heritage, human sacrifice has always been abhored.

  yet, that is what the christ was; a human sacrifice.. the jewish writings condemned human sacrifice, but the christians reveled in the notion that a man died in their place.. human sacrifice is the foundation of the christian faith.

  in another thread (re: gerrit losch), mention is made of the society's appointing certain men to fulfill the role of 'nethinim'... 'given ones'... in assisting the gb to supposedly 'shepherd god's people'... and thus, 'render sacred service' in god's 'temple'.

  for those of you who support such a thing, do you know the origin and purpose of nethinim?
