So what makes the '1st century christians' actually christians, and not largely represented by fundamentalist nuts too ?
Just read the epistles(letters) and you will see first century christians were as diverse as they are today.

there's seems to be much pride taken in religious purity if the practice of '1st century christians' is sought out and copied.
i have also heard mention of 'early christian' practice spoken of to defend the blood issue.. so what makes the '1st century christians' actually christians, and not largely represented by fundamentalist nuts too ?
so now many antichrists have comei'd say there were just as many (by proportion) standover fearful religious nuts full of literal rules, back when some people first literally didn't eat blood, or literally get circumcised etc.. .
So what makes the '1st century christians' actually christians, and not largely represented by fundamentalist nuts too ?

i am planning on joining the local chapter of the ymca....could i be df'd if found out?
thanks
You may even try using the UN thing to your advantage.....
Sweet idea!
Join the Y and if you get caught...tell them your only using the Gym and the swimming pool. If they give you any crap, be ready to show the elders where the Society were NGO members so they could use their library for research purposes.
I doubt anyone would know you joined unless you were seen entering the place or leaving it since you won't find any witnesses there.....and if you do, they ain't gonna tell on ya.

the door to door work is a sham.. the central activity of the watchtower bible and tract society is not spreading their so-called "messege" about the kingdom of jehovah established in the heavens in 1914. that's a load of propaganda.. the door to door activity is feckless in producing converts.
in fact, it is an immense failure of mammoth proportions!.
but, it is a diversion.
I just want you to know Terry...I STILL think you have pretty boobs for a guy

i've seen countless men who seem to posess the mindset of "i need a woman to be happy".
I can point them in a certain direction, but it's up to them to make the changes and choices to make this information work for them
Holy shitsky....we have another Brownboy
Ok nos, since Odrande striaghtened my arse out...I see where your coming from. If this is a NEW relationship and it doesn't work out and a person goes to pieces, then yes, they have put too much stock in one thing. However if they fell deeply in love and got their heart broken bad enough, then it's easy to see how one could want to end their life or whatever at least temporarily....especially if that person is weak emotionally. A guy that's week emotionally might even wanna end his life if he had too many viens in his nutsack and he can't hide them even with some chocolate wax of mine.
There.....how'd I do this time around?

the GB as misguided & deluded rather than criminal .
I'm also of this belief.
If one could point a finger at anyone on the governing body who has a selfish motive.....other than prominence...I'd like to see it. What is scary is the thought that only one man on the governing body ,R.Franz, had the balls to call it as he saw it. When I go to the hall and see faces that have been there 15-20 years, it's depressing to come to realise that more people than not have no thinking ability of their own. It's depressing to know that regardless of the exposer the witnesses have that shows up their true colors.......most will continue to turn a deaf ear to it.

i've seen countless men who seem to posess the mindset of "i need a woman to be happy".
However, would you say that your life is completely ruined because your dog got run over?
No, but it may be in the dumps for some time.
I just talked on the phone to a fellow male poster here who lost his wife in April due to cancer and many times he was so down he wished he could have just taken a pill and ended it all.....because he wasn't happy anymore without his wife whom he loved dearly. He is just now coming out of the clouds and starting to live again. Does this mean he put too much stock into his wife and depended on her too much for his happiness......or did he respond as humans respond when they lose a loved one? I know you said grieving is natural, but somehow it seems to contradict your idea presented here. Maybe I just ain't had 'nuff coffee yet

However, if that person is taking away from our existing happiness, that person should be removed from our lives. If you make it a goal to live this analogy, you will no longer have to fear being abandoned by a woman
Nos ya bastard,....are you havin a hard time gettin a gal or sumpin?
I guess much of what you are saying is true, but some of it isn't realistic as far as being expressed in peoples lives.
Let's say I'm happy but I don't have a dog....then I get a dog. I now say to myself..."boy, I should have gotten a dog along time ago because I'm not so lonely anymore and old charlie has become my best companion". 2 months later old charlie gets ran over by a fatass drunken truckdriver drivin an eighteenwheeler. Now you grieve and are sad because old charlie is gone and you had drawn so close to him.
Does this mean you wouldn't have been sad had you not let your emotions gone so far into old charlie?
The point is, anytime we lose a companion, we are hurt regardless of how independantly happy we were/are, and that there are many things in life that bring greater happiness than the happiness we had before.
Don't make me come over there and give you a nutsack buffin with coarse grit sandpaper.....ya hear?

ok to begin i was born catholic, recently became intune with god, and now just believe in the holy scripture.
but i have many question to you guys who are jehovah's witness'.
many of the things i have read you believe in sound completely false, and ridiculous.
So in my opinion, your little cult has been sparked by the Devil.. .. I didnt write this for a fight.
Thats like me saying to you, "your mother wears army boots"....but I'm not looking for a fight.
I'm glad about one thing kidder.....if you thought this was a pro JW site, then so do many others like yourself.
Funny thing about guys/gals ( but probably a guy) like Kidder.....even though many know he's a bogus poster, we still love to battle with him.

i remember the watchtower organization having me so scared of jehovah that i was getting paranoid.
i kept thinking he was watching me no matter where i was at.
i wouldn't dare say anything bad against the organization because jehovah was listening to me.
Even after I left that mind diseased place, I still had that feeling. Now, it's gradually going away.
What amazes me is how long it takes to disbelieve something you have come to realise is bogus......like the witness mindset.
I have come to see jehovah as fictional and a mean heartless asswipe to be honest. Just reading the O.T. about how this god slew millions of women, babies, young children, animals, and possesions......makes me as angry at him as I am at the organisation of Jehovahs Witnesses.
"Jehovah hates this, Jehovah hates that, don't diplease Jehovah, Jehovah is vengeful, Jehovah is jealous" Frankly, Jehovah can kiss my arse.
I believe in a creator......but my creator isn't Jehovah. Jehovah is the god of the Hebrews and of the bible whom the jews put together. I am actually an agnostic I guess.

i was thinking about how much fear there is among jehovah's witnesses in relating to each other.. if you could read the private thoughts of jw's, you'd probably be surprised at the level of fear they have of each other.. this fear is not likely to be the morbid kind of fear, but the other kind of fear that concerns "what will people think of me?".
you watched a movie at the weekend, it was rated pg, but you are afraid to tell your friends that you went to see it.. you were only able to report 4 hours of field service that month, but you are afraid to report this number so you tweak it.. you missed several meetings due to sickness, you still feel unwell, but you fear what the congregation may think so you force yourself to go.. you went on a weekend getaway, but you are afraid to tell the friends why you were missing that weekend in case they think you put kingdom interests last.. you watched a good book, but you are afraid to talk about it to your friends because they might be stumbled.. you heard of someone who got disfellowshipped but you are afraid to ask what happened.. you were unable to take friday off for the convention, but you fear what will be said about you.. you did not auxiliary pioneer during the memorial season and you are afraid people will think of you as spiritually weak.. .
not everyone will let these things bother them, but many do.. this climate of fear and worry about what the congregation may or may not think does not contribute to a loving atmosphere.. what other things can you think of that contribute to a climate of fear?.
What other things can you think of that contribute to a climate of fear?
Giving the #4 talk and finding out your nutsack has been showing the whole time cuz you forgot to zip up.
All cults have the same fear types......that being fearful of how you are percieved by others of the same faith. When god becomes second place to man/men, you always have a fear factor. With god you have the satisfaction that he will judge you and he knows your heart......with man there is no reading of the heart but rather a judgemental attitude based on your percievable actions.
