  Did The Generation Change Silence Apostates?

  here is a paragraph from the1997 august 1st.watchtower re the generation change:.

  "recently, 'the faithful and discreet slave' has helped us to refine our understanding of the term 'generation' used at matthew 24:34 and of the timing of the judgment of 'the sheep' and 'the goats' mentioned at matthew 25:31-46, as well as of our view toward certain types of civilian service.

  no doubt some apostates would have been delighted if many of jehovah's witnesses had stuck rigidly to the previous understanding of such subjects and refused to progress.

  Refuse to progress?
  What they mean is......refuse to believe more crap, lies, wrong conclusions.
  Refined understanding? How can something wrong be refined.
  Refined makes something good, better dosen't it? Was their wrong understanding ever good?
  And.....how can they say no one has been upset by all these false beliefs they had but rather they have stayed loyal? Thats a lie!
  Thousand leave over these drastic changes. When they leave...then they are called apostates while those who stay are LOYAL.

  i was recently diagnosed with skin cancer and due to treatments etc.

  Sometimes it takes a while to notice someone hasn't been around in a while.
  There are so many posters here it's easy not to notice.....don't feel bad.
  Just a little bit ago I was wondering what happened to SixofNine and then his name came up in a post.
  Sometimes some of us can only show up here breifly so it's easy to lose track of who's where.

  in the january 1 issue of each year, they harp on about how many hours the jws did last year etc etc.. how many hours are possibly falsely reported?.

  A lot!!!!!!!!!!
  I have known many who add time especially if their time for the month is low. 2-3 hours would not be a long stretch for many pubs to add on.

  If publishers counted time as they are suppose to, there would be even less time reported

  Counting your own child as a return visit when you study with them is a real winner the society uses.

  " in it kevin costner is an escaped felon who escapes from prison with another felon.

  I like movies that make you really think or look at things differently.

  "Slingblade":...Made me realize how people can be so honest, that they act upon their beliefs regardless of the consequences.

  "The truman show": A person can only know... what he has been exposed to.

  "The Game". A mind can do things we wouldn't dare doing if it is pushed hard enough.

  those of us who have previously spent years and even decades reading and studying wts materials regarding the "beasts" of bible prophecy and how "false religion" has supported such know full well the wts's habit of slicing and dicing quotes so as to make it appear that "christendom" has turned their back on god in favor of world governments and especially the united nations.

  in the july 8, 1996 awake, pages 22-25, an article entitled, the pope's un visit _ what did it accomplish?, criticizes the pope's visit and speech to the un during its' october 1995 50th anniversary celebration.

  typically, the article begins with sliced/diced quotes which "seem" to "prove" the wts's historic proposition that, although well-intentioned, christendom's faith has been misplaced in man himself, and the un.

  1.Don't DO IT too much! Show a balanced attitude ( about once a week)
  2. Don't put it before spiritual things. Study the watchtower...then do it!
  3. Use self control even with your mate. If either of you make sounds....then you are out of control.
  4. Use the spirit of a sound mind as to when lovemaking will proceed.....never do it on the fridge!
  
  Yes even true christians can become unbalanced in this most sensitive area. May we all strive side by side and put true intrests first in our lives and follow our grand instructor and put marital dues in their proper place........your brothers

  there's one sure-fire way to tip off your jw friends and family that you're leaning apostate.... just stop insisting on calling jehovah "jehovah" all the time.

  call him "god" more often.

  talk about raised eyebrows and mumbled conversations over in the corner!

  Start using the term Yahweh instead of Jehovah and when anyone says anything, tell them this is the proper way to say the name according to the society.
  
  When they say....how do you figure?....show them where it explains it in the NWT Reference bible under Gods name.
  Even the society admits they use Jehovah because it is "a commom english usage" but Yahweh is probably the proper pronunciation.

  i know i've posted about this in the past, but there are so many new people, and sooooo many lurkers i thought i'd bring it up again.

  i went on 2 convetion tours and have to admit we had a wonderful time.

  i also made some really good friends from all over that i haven't been able to keep in touch with.

  Dodger stadium in July!

  What could be more fun for a teenager than sit for 8 hours in the hot sun under one of thousands of colored umberella's. I think it was 68' or early 70's was my first unless my mom took me to others before I was too young to remember.

  Harry snow..............anyone remember him??? CO......him's my uncle!
