  Who am I?

  this might appear as a stupid question but i still find it hard to find my real personality.

  often, i try to appear as someone else and the result is that i am shy because i have the fear of the judgement of the other people.

  how did you redefined yourself when you got out of the org?.

  You are yourself!
  We dont have to be any "certain way"
  We just have to be.
  If people dont accept how you are then thats their problem.
  Believe it or not, I used to be very humble, quiet and submissive.
  When I found out that my family and I had been manipulated by the Org. I completely changed. My sister even says " You used to be so quiet, what happend?"
  I guess lessons in life can make or break you.
  I'de rather take it than leave it. (Life, that is)

  i don't know if any of you really want to hear this, so if not please stop reading here.. i told a few of you about a guy i have been seeing for the past few months.

  well, i found out that he has been seeing other women, and i spoke to him last night and tried to break it off with him.

  he didnt want to hear it.

  I think your letter was a good idea.
  It described your feelings and needs.
  You seem like a very open and honest person.
  You are ready for a commited relationship and he isnt.
  You are special and deserve all of your mans attention.
  Maybe he will come around once you let him know how you feel.
  If he doesnt you are better off.
  There are men out there who dont want to play games and are ready for a seriouse relationship.
  Dont settle for less.

  I guess we believe what we want to believe.
  Some including myself, want to believe in God, want to be more spiritual, need to believe that there is more to this life that we are living now.
  I would be continually depressed if I didnt at least believe that it was possible.

  What films and TV shows couldn't you watch?

  what films and tv shows couldn't you watch when you were a witness kid?.

  i remmember being banded from watching scooby doo, ghostbusters ,e.t., (some british ones)count duckula, rent a ghost, well basicly anything with ghosts in it.. my parents wouldn't watch any films with much swearing in them, especially the f-word.. which is fair enought.but i don't notice swearing so sometimes i recommend a film without realising its got lots of naughty words.. sometimes a very sensitive brother from the hall would come round to visit, and he would be visably shocked if there was any sex or swearing in a tv programme which often made it embarassing when watching tv when he was round.. once when we had some friends round and we got waynes world out on video, a couple of the brothers walked out as they thought it too worldly.

  hello to all who have been escaped from the wt bondage.

  i just da'd last week, the most difficult decision i've ever made, but i'm 99.999% sure i made the right decision.

  Thank God she is o.k.
  We recently had an accident in our family.
  Unfortionatly my younger sister was the only was who was hurt. She messed up her face pretty bad by hitting the window on impact.
  Ironically, only her face and teeth were hurt but everyone knows to a teenager that is everything. She now has an awful fear of driving or being in a vehicle. I tell her she is so lucky because it could have been so much worse.
  I hope your daughter recovers well, emotionally and physically.

  If you still believe in those statements because you cant read between the lines to see all the manipulative motives behind those commands,
  well, there is nothing more I can say.

  What Is Your Hope Now???

  my hope for over 30 years was the same as many here on this site.

  when i made my decesion to no longer me a jw at first i just figured that i was a goat and that i would just die at armageddon along with all the other wicked ones.

  well after doing some research on the dubs and on religion in general i have come to some differnt conclusions about life,death and what might happen when you die.. i have to be honest and tell you that it has been difficult to accept the fact that any hope of any sort of life after death is very unfounded.. i have come to believe that religion is for people who cannot accept the only certainty we have in this life is that you are going to die.. my hope is that i can live this life and be able to raise my children up to be responsible and productive adults.

  I had lost all hope.
  Its not pleasant believing everyone who isnt a J.W. including innocent children, will be tortured and killed while you and other witnesses watch and supposedly arent going to be bothered by it.
  I prayed, studied the bible,(not the watchtower), read countless books on the subject, visited this and other similar sites. I now know what I have suspected all along.
  The W.T.S is not the truth.

  I have gained more hope for humanity in the past 2 years than I have had my entire life as a J.W.
