  Did I die?

  last week at the kingdom hall, my mother was met by an elder who said: "i'm sorry to hear about benext, she found that puzzling then another mournful face who told her they'd help her in any way they could.

  the gossip had gotten around that i no longer "went to my meetings like i should.

  " i've been inactive for a year and haven't been to a meeting for several months.

  The sad thing is that we ARE dead in their eyes.

  My uncle (with tears in his eyes) once told my sister that he shouldnt even bother to form a relationship with my children since they are going to be killed in Armageddon anyway.

  i have already gotten an email from someone stating that their gift arrived safely in the mail.

  i thought it would be nice to start a thread where we can post what we got (for those nosey like me who want to know!

  Spousal Abuse Thoughts

  i have been having an ongoing discussion with a friend about spousal abuse.

  she has come to accept and believe that i have never hit a woman in my life, but feels that i am a rarity.

  i contend that i am not, that although too many men still hit their wives, they are in the minority.

  So strange, I can agree with both of you and have swayed back and fouth with my mother for years. She has many other issues. She is dislexic, has always been very dependent on other people and I just found out that she was diagnosed bi-polar. I guess I have just accepted the fact that when this man tires of her, she will leave only because he makes her leave. Either that, or the worst case scenerio but I dont want to go into that. Imagine wanting to save someone who wont allow you to. Many people cant understand the frusteration on both sides unless they have been there, even having been there, Im still bewildered at times.

  well it's thanksgiving today.. yes today is the day families get together and enjoy the company of those we love.. if you are an apostate as we are....this isn't the case.

  today our witness families and friends will be getting together and eating a big turkey dinner also....they always do.

  are you sad today of the reminder that this religion has broke this relationship?

  Nobody should be alone on Thanksgiving.

  There are so many people who dont have family or cant afford to make a large dinner etc. for various reasons.

  I had a few hours free today so I volunteered for the "Friends of the Elderly". We prepared and served Thanksgiving dinner for hundreds of elderly, underprivlaged and even some who just were just away from home. (college students etc.) So many charitable organizations need help during the holidays. Its also a great way to meet people. Many young people were there helping. (exchanging phone # s too).

  Anyway, If you are single or just happen to be alone during the holidays, you may want to give it a thought. You would be doing a great service to the community and yourself.

  it's a balancing act.

  it is impossible to please everyone all the time and i don't go out of my way to try to please anyone ... i just do what i think is right.. some good examples are controversial topics: if i lock or delete something that is controversial then i am accused of "stiffling free speech".

  Ahhhhhhh,

  Dont worry about them crabby folk.

  Although last night I was surprised to see that I had used up my 20 posts for the day just as I was about to do something naughty to someone who was slamming our football team. I will admit that Xenawarrior & I believe that the posting limit shouldnt apply us when discussing football, we promise not to give you a hard time because we understand that its for the good of the board.
