Two days after I was reinstated, we attended a circuit assembly. One elder who seen me(he attended a different cong.) said,"yeah, I heard you were reinstated, hope you stay that way." WTF!!! He was an arrogant, pompous a**hole.

The fact that they change their major doctrines every few years or so-blood transfusions, college, D/F policies, and claim it is divinely inspired! I, too was heartbroken when I realized they were not the "truth". I am so thankful that I am not in that ridiculous mess anymore!!!!!

Did the elders in your congregation give counsel to those that were DATING? Good or bad counsel?
by BonaFide ini have heard some doozies.
some elders forbid the couple from sitting together at the meetings unless they are engaged.
i have heard that said from the platform.

Our congregation had an elder that mentioned during his talk that french kissing was considered porneia and that one could be DF'd for it-whether married or not. A few weeks later, it was brought up in the local needs talk(by a different elder) that french kissing was NOT porneia.

Watchtower in Michael Jackson's Will???
by Confucious inwallstreet journal today is reporting about mj's will.. they are saying that it's his mother, three children and "one or more" charities.. what do you think the odds are that the wt is one of them?.
i remember for the jackson's victory tour (a very long time ago) - that they donated most of that tour money to a "unnamed" charity.. and i always suspected that the wt were the recepients.. and thoughts?.

I hope they are NOT in the will. Years ago when he disassociated himself, they used to say that listening to his music was like having him in the room conversating. Seems to me that taking his evil money would be wrong for them to do.

Guys I've been browsing other ex sites (Ex-Mormons, Ex-Scientologist) to see if they have anything near our experience and look what I found
by StoneWall inbeing born and raised a jw i didn't think any other religion or group of people could come close to having to deal.
with what we do as far as loosing family, friends, workmates etc.
because of beliefs.. when i read on ex-mormon and ex-scientologist sites it makes me sad that they too are going thru some horrendous.

I looked at an Ex-Mormon site a while back and was surprised to see how similar it was to my upbringing and feelings. It made me feel sad that others had to deal with the same kind of crap.

My mom is a great mom and always had fun stuff for us planned on the holiday breaks.-pajama parties, roller skate parties, etc. She wasn't an uber-JW then- we would go to families house on thanksgiving, 4th of july parties. I did feel funny returning to school after holiday breaks. Can't say I missed it because I thought it was the right thing to do, not celebrating.
Now am trying to make up for the fact that my kids have missed out on the holidays. My son's are 11 and 16. We celebrated Christmas for the first time in December 2008. It was wonderful!! I want them to feel like everyone else and feel sorry it's taken me so long to do it.

Is there a part of you eating away from the inside wishing you could show the world who you are and what you found out?
by StoneWall inand does it seem like it is getting harder to keep in with each and every day?.

Yes, there is. It's difficult to have such vital information and not be able to share it with others (who will listen and receive). I agree with Blondie, most people have to learn this for themselves.

JW PARROT
by iknowall558 ina man went to a pet shop and purchased a parrot.
it belonged to a jehovah's witness because it kept repeating, "read the watchtower and awake", "avoid worldly association", "the end of the system is near".
