WATCHTOWER QUOTE RE UN NGOs NAILS THEIR OWN ASSES!
by MadApostate ini'm pulling this out of the original thread since people are blowing by this as if it were nothing.. the blue portion appears on page 17 of the june 1, 1991 watchtower, in the article titled their refuge--a lie!, which criticizes "christendom" for seeking help from the united nations rather than jah.. .
"prayer and meditation at the united nations"-- robert muller .
"prayer, meditation and spirituality at the un are fascinating subjects.

Founded on a Mental Illness
by metatron inthe zeal and general character of witnesses is firmly.
grounded in its encouragement of a kind of mental illness.. specifically, being obsessive-compulsive.
once i started seeing this, things really fell into place.. it helped to explain so much behaviour that baffled me.

What is truly sad is that any mental illnesses diagnosed in ex-jws will only reassure the jws that the former members could not make it because they were mentally ill, rather than admitting that the structure attributed to the illness.

Abaddon: Calm down dude. You do realize that your sarcasm only reinforces anewperson's strong convictions don't you? Glass paradigms need strong security systems, remember?
Besides, I liked Mamma Mia better than Super Trooper anyway. Comes in just ahead of Fernando and Dancing Queen. The blonde chick was hotter than fresh fries at McDonalds too.

Why are people so determined to be miserable?
by Sunchild inas i was reading through a few of yk's words of wisdom, i found myself wondering about that very question.
how often have you heard these statements given by christians in particular (and sorry to pick on you guys, but it's the easiest example):.
"when i get to heaven....".

Many folks I know who have low self esteem seem to relish the thought that they are meant to be miserable. I guess it's a good excuse for not making a life for themselves. Those who can't do it, dream it.

JW Claims About Who Will Be Saved
by AlanF inwe on this forum understand that the watchtower society will not hesitate to lie to the public in order to put its best foot forward.
many of us know that the society's media website, http://www.jw-media.org contains quite a bit of misleading information, such as on the shunning issue.
under the link to "their beliefs" -> "frequently asked questions" ( http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/beliefsfaq.htm ) they ask the question, "do you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?

Micheal the ArcAngel/Jesus the man
by plmkrzy ini understand that a lot believe that micheal and jesus are one in the same some believe that jehovah and jesus are one in the same some believe that one is the son of god yadda yadda yadda.. would some of you please address or post your reasons for believing that micheal the arc angel was not gods first creation and why he couldn't be the one sent to us to be born as a man and become our savyor?
why would he not have another name fitting his role as a man on earth?
he obviously wouldn't be living on earth as a child growing up as an angel.

Y'All Don't Believe in God--PART 2
by teenyuck inflower, you need to wake up and realize christians are not the only religion.
i guess one thing i dont understand is where an athiest or agnostic sets their limits.
i feel like if i didnt have a christian conscience that i may not be able to differentiate between what is right and wrong.

amccullough:
There you go! That's a good tactic! Did you pick that fine trait up in high school?
No, I came up with it, all by myself. You see when someone just won't take "no thank you, I am not interested" or "please leave me alone" for an answer, sometimes you have to resort to drastic measures. In this case, it was a persistant witnesses who simply would not give up the sales job, and little ol' me who didn't feel like suing someone for simply not getting a hint.BTW, Thank you for your kind comments. I KNOW it was a good tactic, because it got the desired result, something that I previously did not get, and obviously butalbe is not getting.
In closing, I would like to add something that I indeed did learn straight from high school, that is, for you to politely "FUCK YOUR RITEOUS SELF".
Thank you and have a nice day.
