C.O. Talked about the fact that we may die in this system

being that my husband is still going to most of the meetings, i tied into the meeting sunday to see what the co had to say on his last day at the hall.

one thing i found interesting is that we may die in this system.

he said when he first learned the "truth" he just knew for sure that the system would end before he was baptized and he was so stressed out from it.

Maybe jws should be happy the end may not come in their lifetime thus making room to eliminate imminent armareddon in the near future, maybe even 1914 will be eliminated as it's mentioned less and less by the year.

Religion after JW

hello i was raised a witness from 7 to 17 then i left home and never looked back!

i just never could get around the logic of no birthdays (but anniversaries), the roller coaster doctrines regarding college (they ensured various generations in to poverty with that one), the balls to use the rights that they refuse to defend (im a veteran), the whole df thing (how unchristlike is that!

), back and forth variations with blood transfusions, and last but not least using "elders" to counsel the flock without giving them proper education!.

After wts there is no room for religion in my life, if I want to read a bible I can but I will not follow some asshole telling me what I should belief. For your spiritual needs you can discuss your spiritual interests with your peers but don't need to belong to a religion. jmho

Jerusalem destroyed 607 or 586/7?

let's try this again...most of us are aware that all available evidence points to the time of jerusalem's destruction at the 586/7bc time frame.

overwhelming evidence includes astronomical phenomena, achaeological evidence, bank records, the bible itself.. some hold to 607bc, for obvious reasons- the implications it has.

thoughts on how this would effect the average witness if forced to conclude 607 is wrong?

from time to time i have confessed here that the things i share are not mine, that i don't know any of these things on my own, but that they are given to me by my lord, the holy one of israel, jaheshua mischajah, who is the son and christ of the most holy one of israel, jah of armies.

i want to share with you an experience that might help you grasp just what i mean.. a little over a year ago i was contacted by someone who professes to be of the body of christ, but who was still in the wtbts organization.

When I prayed I did believe and had faith:) So now it's my fault that I doubt? hmmm interesting. I had faith and no answer and now I don't have faith it's my own fault. Ok, it really sounds reasonable to me.

Aguest: Since you have the Spirit, please answer me what I was asking of the Lord. Since I didn't hear no voice replying maybe you're more connected. I will easily acknowledge my error in doubting you but it won't be difficult for Jesus to tell you what I need to hear to believe again.

My JW friend de-friended me!

i hadn't attended meetings for over a year now and i had a good jw friend from another hall.

she was friends with me before me being a witness.

we knew each other from school and she had a hand in converting me.

keeshondgirl: I have very similar experience but you haven't lost much other than a false friend who befriended you to recruit you. These sort of people deny reality and live a lie. They are stubborn and blind to what they believe. If you have nothing to lose with that individual tell her if she can prove 607BC for destruction of Jerusalem you'll go back to the meetings :) And that proof better be outside of wts realm.

I'm with Black Sheep on this one, ask him to prove you 607BC which should be easy or not? I don't buy into trinity but believing in 1914 invisible return of Christ based on make believe date is like believing in a tooth ferry.

WTS was the first on the scene after the Haiti earthquake

hey!.

the following story is apparently circulating in several south-american bethel-branches: after the earthquake in haiti, the wts was the first provide help in the form of 18 doctors who was transported in by air.

this clearly show how well the organization work bla bla bla.. im curious if anyone else here has heard this story, or have information about how effective the wts helping work really was..

Never doubt the truth especially when they tell you there is huge invisible man standing behind then. lol KnowledgeSeeker_UK, I forgot about that story, lol it's so funny to look back and think what BS we did put up with.

Wasn't there another one where Hitler's plane transported some mags without the Nazis knowing it and dubs got their illigal shippment thanks to oblivious nazis?
