The word "piosneer" applies to many of the people I knew who pioneered. I knew a few who did it sincerely, but mostly, it was just the usual piety mouthing BS that super Witnesses indulge in.

Rydor, I have the same issues with the supposed Biblical taboos on homosexuality.
One thing I found very reassuring, although I still don't expect or need the Bible to be absolute or infallible, is that a lot of bias was inserted into the Bible via translation.
In Hebrew and Greek, those scriptures read quite differently, the ones used to support homophobia.
It's always good to ask people who actually know those languages, instead of wannabe JW pseudo bible scholars who chose the wrong shoulders to stand upon because apparently, they already had a ripping case of homophobia.
People always love it when they think God approves of their unsupported, dip-shit opinions.

Yeah, usually horrific serial killers don't last long in the general population, so they usually end up spending most of their life sentences more or less in solitary for their own protection, ironically enough.
Even other criminals have little tolerance for people like Dahmer, they feel really threatened by someone who thinks torturing, killing and eating people is an interesting past time.
I think the first time Dahmer got out in general, someone bashed his head in just because he looked at them funny.

What type of sauce or toppings do you like on your steak?

Horseradish in mayo or Heinz57 sauce, usually. I like something with a bite to it. A good whiskey sauce is nice too. A1 and Heinz57 only differ in their base. Heinz has apple puree, and A1 uses raisin puree for the sweet component in the sauces, but the other big flavor ingredient in both sauces is anchovies, believe it or not! They're very salty and oily things and rendered down for their flavor in the sauces, used a lot like bacon is in sauces and as a flavoring.
I hate to tell you, but even gourmet cooks utilize ketchup in recipes...it's just a very tomato-y version of barbeque sauce, tomato sauce, sugar, vinegar and spices. Chefs used to make their own and it was so popular it finally got bottled for convenience sake in the 1910 era.
Meatloaf without ketchup is a sorry thing, if you ask me.

I think there is always a danger in supposing there is some sort of absolute philosophical or theological truth that applies blanketly to all people everywhere on earth.
There are a few fundamental things that most human cultures agree on as far as what is right and wrong, but even those are usually softened by consideration of circumstance, motive and emotional state. There are even degrees of guilt in the crime murder for instance in most more enlightened cultures, and different sentences given accordingly.
Absolutism assumes that all humans everywhere need exactly the same things, have the same situation and feel the same about everything.
That's simply not true, and probably why there will never be a world wide religion or philosophy that suits everyone. The Witnesses are only able to achieve the appearance of "universal brotherhood", by which they mean uniformity of teaching and thought, by very strict control of thought and imput, and even then, it's mere appearance.
That's not really equivalent to satisfying everyone's individual needs in that way, it's just cramming everyone into the same mold regardless of how painful a fit it is. One size fits all pantyhose are a joke too, LOL...There's no such thing as ANYTHING that fits everyone on the planet!

Sociopaths aren't very responsive to the usual rehabilitation efforts of the psychological community. It's thought they might actually have a fundamental organic brain difference that might someday be treated pharmacologically or with gene therapy.
That brain difference is a high tolerance to certain chemicals which give us normal range responses to emotions. These people seem to lack that...it takes violent stimulus to get them to feel anything much, and they crave that violent stimulation.

Jehovah Witnesses are NOT a bad Cult but man made type spiritual guide
by Butterflyleia85 inwhen i was a jehovah's witness i remember these debates being mentioned about the raps of innocent children that elders commented, the blacks and whites segregation, the crosses and christmas tree in the bethal, etc.
jehovah's witnesses have always been harassed for these things.
with the changing world and knowledge of the scriptures they work hard to try to work towards accurateness.

There are a few individual Witnesses I do like and even admire, but it seems to be it's in spite of them being Witnesses, not because of it.
One is a brother who professes to be of the annointed who always addresses his prayers to "my lord Jesus", believes fervently in his heavenly destiny and has been repeatedly counseled and frowned upon for being too "Jesus-y" in a religion where Jesus is relegated to somewhere below dog catcher, or so it seems.
I admire his tenacity in keeping true to his belief that Christ is his spiritual leader and no one else, but boy, does he get a lot of flack from it from some of the elders! They are enough in awe of his being "annointed" that they don't DF, but I know a few who'd like to! The stress of all this has taken it's toll on his health...he's had to have 3 heart surgeries, including a triple bypass.
But, this guy is absolutely the most Christ like Witness I've personally known. He's also not overly pious either, just a genuinely good, down to earth guy who does all he can to help anyone, regardless, and doesn't make distinctions between Witnesses and others that way.
He's probably one of the few Witnesses I can think of that make me think, "I think Christ would like this guy."

Sin is a religious word, it can't really have any bearing in a discussion of the process of disease and death.
We actually know what causes many diseases in minute detail, and even conditions once thought to be the result of nurture or upbringing apparently have organic roots, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and autism.
We're probably going to find, as we discover more about the brain, that many behavioral problems have organic roots, even if they're triggered by a stressful and poorly nurturing environment. Already, depression, anxiety and some anti social behavior is being well controlled in mice by treating them with enzymes that prevent the RNA in our brains from altering in detrimental ways.
It seems that along the course of our evolution into humans, we have picked up about 50 or so endogenic viruses that made themselves part of our brain or nervous systems RNA, and exposure to stress or certain retro viruses, which are viruses that rewrite our RNA into DNA, usually always with very nasty results, particularly in childhood, trigger those endogenic viruses and cause all sorts of diseases, like multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, and possibly other diseases that we associate with anti social or harmful behavior. There is still much research to be done in this field.
It's totally conceivable that most of our "bad behavior" has organic origins and the reason we've labeled some behavior as bad, neglectful and sinful is simply because not nurturing our young and being hostile to others creates an environment in which old endogenic viruses, which are viruses that literally are lying dormant in every human being's brain, are much of the cause of "sin".
It's interesting to me that one day we may literally treat "sin" and crime as an organic, treatable disease, and simply treat it medically, on the genetic level. If we get rid of sin as a medical treatment, will we need religion, or a God who can absolve us of it?

Red hair is also an expression of that mutation.
I always knew that I was a mutant.(I'm naturally ginger, born with it.) LOL
But, yes, only about 5% of the population has natural red hair and only about another 7% has naturally blond hair as adults. Lithuania and Scandinavia has the highest population of blonds, the Celtic races of redheads and they all come from sunlight deficient environments.
The rest is all the work of Miss Clairol.
Children tend to have lighter skin and hair than adults in the lighter skinned peoples to allow them to have more exposure to sunlight during the critical development period of life. That's why kids who are blond often get darker as adults, going into the dark blond to med brown shades.
