My wife told me that a letter was read in the U.S. congregations, like last month, about avoiding homes that have posted "No tresspassing" signs. The WTS stated that if a publisher ignores a "No tresspassing" sign, then the publisher is individually liable for any fines or jail time. The WTS advised to not ignore such signs.

I won't be taking it, but that is my personal choice. I took a flu shot years ago, it did not seem to make a difference.
Of course if everyone else takes the flu shot then it decreases the chance that I will catch the flu. Ha, Ha.

Yet I remember the days when I would take a sister out in rural field service with no problem. Some of these sisters were elders' daughters. But that was different because I was in God's service and not dating them.

Glad you joined this forum. You will find that the ones on this forum are generally caring, sympathic, and understanding. We each went through possibly the same or different situations involving the JW world.

Horrid Perfumes and Nasty Nairspray
by Elsewhere inwhy do people wear these things?.
don't these people know they make everyone else sick?
for those who wear perfume: please do not spray it directly onto yourself.

Good advice. I remember a sister who seldom came to the KH because loving brothers and sisters thought that they had the right to use strong perfumes, colognes, and hair sprays. And this in spite of the elders giving talks about being considerate of others when wearing such scented items.

At the recent CO visit, my wife mentioned that the amount of time and material resources the publishers put into helping convert a person shows that Jehovah really cares about people.
Even a bad report can have a good spin on it.

Assembly Parts NEVER made sense to me....!!!!
by babygirl30 inthis is and always has been one of my biggest gripes: assembly parts/experiences.
not 1....ever......e-v-e-r was even remotely relatable to me.
now i have traveled all over the place (and to other countries) and i have sat amongst rich and poor jws, suburbanites and urbanites, siddity folks and straight 'hood'.....and not 1 assembly experience made me sit up in my seat and say "wow - that's just like me!".

I never could figure it out. How one can be happy giving up opportunities for a better life to serve the WTS. But I guess it is all how one looks at it.
I remember elderly couples getting on the stage and telling how happy they were by sacrificing everything to serve the WTS. But many of them were ex-military so they draw Social Security and Military benefits. Therefore they were not starving or medically in financial need. But young ones being sucked into this will be surprised when they get older and not have military retirement and health benefits.

Dad is Nuts!
by White Dove inhe goes from hot to cold and back and forth again when he skips his meds.
he loves us one week and hates us and the whole world the next.
what makes this unbearable for us is that he acts it out, giving us the cold shoulder and blaming us for his miserable life.

I sure feel for you. It really makes ones heart sink when a dad is like this.
Even on the last night that my dad was alive in the hospital, he told me that I was a failure to him and thus he could not consider me to be his son because I ruined his life. I couldn't believe it, we were both grown men and I had no control over his life to ruin it. But it hurt.
I always try to remember how he brought us up and cared for our needs when I was a child growing up. Then I appreciate the love he extended to me. I try to forget the times when he got older.
