Would it make a good present for active Jehovah's witnesses, as in "Hey, I found this and thought you'd like it, since you're a witness"?

Moses's mistake
by highdose inok heres another thing that always worried and puzzled me... moses made great sacrifices to lead the isrealites and endured great hardship to do so... but he makes one mistake and suddenly all that counts for nothing and he gets no rewards for his pains at all!????!.
this has never seemed fair to me.
basicly what is seems to be saying is that you can lead a exemplary life at great cost to your self, but if you make one mistake... thats it youv'e blown it!.

That shows how loving the God of the Old Testament is. One strike and you're out.

Evil lying Manipulators OR Captive Duped Slaves Duping Others (or some of both)?
by OnTheWayOut ini see many threads that address this issue, but i still don't have a clear thought on this.
so i want your help.. the governing body misleads the members- no doubt.
they do change some of their history to make the wt organization look smarter or better-guided by "jehovah.

Just one more thought. Ray Franz DID realize it was all a lie, and that was why he is playing the role he is now playing.
Another depressing thought: the fact that a board of directors of COMPANIES incorporated as any other human company have a say in how a religious society is managed.

When did Jehovah's Witnesses begin to consider their religion the one true religion?
by garyneal inyesterday, my wife and i was going for a walk in the neighborhood.
she was carrying my niece and commenting on how heavy she is.
i told her that apparently her sister has to carry her child, diaper bag, and her things to the bus stop every morning.

Gary, I think you should not discuss your ideas with the elder or anyone but your wife. They will put pressure on her, and you, too. You can handle the pressure, but she will feel like she must obey whatever they say.
I am sure elders have a way to know who is their enemy. I believe you have indeed been "marked" in a way. Don't comment anything with them anymore. Try to look too busy to talk to him. Would this be a lie, er, theocratic warfare? Yes. For the greater good.

Can you and I make a difference?

You can make a difference if you warn people outside about what it really involves to get in.

Nov.15th WT - Treasure your Place in Congregation- "Obey the Slave Class! "
by flipper inonce again the extremely controlling measures taken by the wt society are evident in the "witness only " nov.15th wt article " treasure your place in the congregation ".
as time goes on the governing body keeps pushing the thought into witnesses minds that the " faithful & discreet slave " is the boss , god, main enchilada , the one through whom rank and file witnesses must answer to in order for jehovah to approve them.
so strap your seat belts on: this should be interesting.. under the subheading " cherish our place- how ?

For a worldly person, your article is very helpful. For us it is often difficult to grasp just where the mind control measure is. We don't have the experience in the society to know that a "suggestion" is not a suggestion, but a command. Reading your comments I think I came to understand just how to spot one of the ways mind control is exerted. If someone makes a statement but gives no proof of it, and the wording of it suggests that it is the only logical or correct thing to do, then you're in the presence of mind control. As in "Should we not strive to be obedient and submissive to those taking the lead in our local congregations?"

Gary, I commend you on what you're doing. Just be careful you don't move too fast with your wife. It's best if you move slowly, but surely.
Three cheers for you!

I am here to get my ammo and try to do the same thing: get someone out of the Watchtower. I have several books, and have been reading from sites like this one from months, and have come to understand that, right from the start, you need to realize that most likely you won't be successful. Then, you have to really ask yourself whether you could afford to lose contact with this person, which is one of the likely outcomes. Then you have to be extremely patient, and have a strategy in place. It can take years; this is not a mere presenting them with the facts and they will understand. NO, THAT DOESN'T WORK. I suggest you get yourself "Releasing the Bonds" and "Combatting Mind Control". I am not even started with them yet, as I am only finishing "In Search of Christian Freedom". You have the great advantage that you know the JW mindset, while I don't, and sometimes I ask people stupid questions about what a JW would do or not do.
Go easy.

We don't really know what will happen. But we can lead good lives under the assumption that there's no God waiting for you in the other side.
