there's a lot.. one rule that is dumb is that a brother must wear a suit for a sunday public talk that he is giving.
any other time, the brother could wear a suit coat with a different pair of pants and not be counseled for it.. another dumb idea is that you cannot date a person unless you seriously might marry them.
if you're on a date, you were supposed to always have a chaperone and holding hands might not be allowed as well as sitting together.. what other dumb rules and ideas can you add?.

I only confessed once to them and was publicly reproved. Will I confess any of my sins to them now? Highly doubt it! They do hold your past sins against you and use it to their advantage so as to keep from being "spiritually weak".

Not yet, but will be making that a major possibility soon.
the program was day 2 of the circuit assembly, but we'd been planning to catch the special assembly day (commonly referred to as sad even by me before i woke up).
i always felt sad after the program every time.
the new assembly hall is gargantuan.

i have always said to those that had questions about fading that they should expect to lose their friends.
it seems that in the vast majority of cases, only family (and sometimes not even them) are willing to overlook jw-weakness and maintain relationships.
if you do keep a friend of a jw, then they are potentially deep into jw-weakness.

So true is that Outlaw. I have JW associates who are trying to contact me now. I ignore them. I don't want to, but I know how it is going to fare in the end. I just consider it doing them the favor.
I have a JW best friend I keep in contact with from time to time still. While she knows I no longer go to meetings, she doesn't know my true view of this cult. And then there is the family factor, which sort of puts me in a limbo.

she goes into this spiel about how she is mentally exhausted from family, ministry, etc.

Ummm... she is wanting to talk to me, not the other way around. Therefore, she should pick up the phone and call me. My number hasn't changed in the past 3 years I've had it.
I am noticing that my JW associates would rather email or text to communicate with me than call and it makes me wonder if they do this because they are either too busy to use a phone or if they feel that the distance somehow protects them from any imagined standing they have of me.
I know that this isn't only in the realm of JW, but has this been your experience and what are your thoughts on this?
