  I don't think even the GB or the HQ knows that yet. Numbers have to be crunched, sent to branch, added, sent to HQ, etc. It takes time. Even then it's kept secret from just about everyone until next year.

  Encounter with JW's take two...

  my doorbell rang about 30mins ago, standing out side was a 30 somthing man and a very very young boy.

  the young boy mumbled and stuttered and limply waved about a awake magazine at me.

  i told him i wasn't interested because his religon had a bigger child abuse problem than the cathloic church, the difference is jw's cover it up better.

  What kind of comeback is this? "Read our magazines to find out that we are good people"? Do good deeds so everyone sees you're good people, don't point to a magazine boasting with some small scale goodness, or some fictious "good deeds" that the majority won't care about (like literature peddling). It's like I'm on trial, there are several eyewitness that I murdered, but I present the jury with my autobiography: read this, then you'll see I'm a good person.

  if you bought into the lie that "millions now living will never die," has the.

  realization that you will very likely reach retirement age, settled in your mind just yet?.

  for instance, i never looked to see if there was a 401k plan when i was in the jw cult.

  It does give me things to think about, thank you. I'm in my 30s and out, but I still sort of live like I'll never get old. It's not just cult mindset, it's something youg people (alas I'm starting to grow out of that period) never think about.

  It's said the main HQ communicates with branch Bethels and other high ranking staff around the world using jw.org. Sending out letters and stuff. It's much cheaper.

  Got to Mess with some Witlesses on my Vacation

  so this last week i went to visit a very dear friend of mine about 21 hours away.

  she is one of the two people i have had a major hand in helping to see the bullshit of the watchtower religion.

  in any case, as we were driving through a neighborhood, guess what we saw.

  Oh, sweet, you mean a christian admits its mistakes? Cool, let me see the Watchtower that admitted they themselves were wrong. It's either "statements were made, that were misunderstood" or "this magazine printed...". The first one is blaming the others, the second is using third person to dispersonate (is that a correct word?) themselves, like the magazine printed itself. Contrast this with many-many direct reference to the faithful and discreet slave that provides such nourishing food. Where is the admittance, that "WE, the FDS blundered"?

  Now make no mistake, this is a cult infamous for their leader's money greed, and shady internal politics. Nevertheless, seeing that video almost makes me not care about all that. I think there are so much JWs can learn from other cults. I mean come on, this event attracted 1300 young people, and they look like they genuinely enjoyed themselves. What similar can the WTS show? Can this be truly compared with the "memorial holiday"?

  a few months have passed since my relationship with my wife took a turn for the worse.

  yesterday i finally questioned her about what she wants as for the future.

  i know she will always stick with the wts, no matter what.

  Thank you everyone for your kind words. I am thinking of a marriage counselor, I think my wife would aggree to that. She visited a psychologist about 1 year ago, and she feels it helped her. I feel she is one of the persons who is actually better off in a cult then outside, and the psychologist only helped her achieve that to full potential - she says she's more dedicated to Jehovah because of those counseling sessions.

  What I'm afraid of is that the psychologists usually don't understand what a cult is like - as far as I understood from books like Hassan's, it's not part of their regular training. So he will only think of it as a matter of religious differences, and would not see the depth of the matter in fullest, having not experienced it firsthand. Nevertheless it's probably my only recourse right now.
