Great post, and way to go Country Guy!
You not only lost 102 pounds around your middle, but you lost a much bigger Watchtower weight around your neck. :)

The Best Revenge...
by CountryGuy inis living a good life..... i'm not sure who said it, but is it ever so true.
the jws think that once we leave the "protection" of the wts, we are doomed to wander through life aimlessly and without purpose.
and, maybe i did that for a little while.. but, i have been on a mission to take my life back from those rotten sobs.

Thanks juni, but from the number of folks viewing the topic, most don't think it's too "interesting."
I guess this topic didn't have a prayer. :) -

I thought the following AP article was interesting, and some on the forum might, too. It reads in part:
"By MALCOLM RITTER AP Science Writer
March 30,2006 | NEW YORK -- In the largest study of its kind, researchers found that having people pray for heart bypass surgery patients had no effect on their recovery. In fact, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a slightly higher rate of complications.
Researchers emphasized that their work can't address whether God exists or answers prayers made on another's behalf. The study can only look for an effect from prayers offered as part of the research, they said.
They also said they had no explanation for the higher complication rate in patients who knew they were being prayed for, in comparison to patients who only knew it was possible prayers were being said for them.
Critics said the question of God's reaction to prayers simply can't be explored by scientific study.
The work, which followed about 1,800 patients at six medical centers, was financed by the Templeton Foundation, which supports research into science and religion. It will appear in the American Heart Journal."

This topic points out how insane the JW cult really is. Looking back makes one shake their head and wonder how they were ever part of the JW looney-tunes!

Here's a link to the South Park Scientology episode

Thanks for the link, Dan -- It was great fun to watch. I've never watched South Park before, but that could change.
Scientology is in the news much more than JWs, but it would be great seeing what they would do with the crazy stuff the Witnesses believe. I can just imagine the fun they would have with the door-to-door, shunning, 1975 failure, and no blood stuff. It could be a great episode. :) -

Very good! The mp3 into iTunes in less than 30 secs. I'll add it to the iPod--a little something to get me going when going to the Y.
Did you use GarageBand or some other program? -

How many JWs does it take to change a lightbulb?
by Wild_Thing in"they don't need to change their lightbulb because their light just keeps getting brighter and brighter!
as told by jw sister tonight to the rest of my jw family.
they thought it was great!
-
JAVA
None -- Only the Governing Body can change a lightbulb.
None -- Changing a lightbulb would be "running ahead of the Organization;" a JW would no longer be a JW if that happened.
144,000 plus 3 -- The 144,000 still needs to clear it with BIG J and little j, and holy cow, don't forget the Holy Spirit. -

Who would we blame when a storm hits town and kills children in school if there was no god? (“An act of God”)
When we go to war and kill countless people because of misinformation, we would need to come up with another song to encourage war and killing. (“God Bless America”)
How can we discourage a woman’s right to choose without God; the same God that’s for “an eye for an eye” and killing whole nations that worship other gods.
Good question--what would the world be like without God?
