my husband is obsessed with peeps. he likes to let them get a bit stale first though......and, yes.....when we were "in" we had them. i personally think they are terrible, but funny!

this is a very interesting and educational thread. i wonder how big bear poop plops are? we live in civilization, but border conservation land, so we get bobcats, coyotes, deer, raccoons, skunks, opossums, fisher cats, the occasional weasel, foxes......i've never seen a bear in the wild, and if i do i would prefer it not be in my yard.

okay so i think it might be the concussion making me go on this rant...not too sure.. the girl scouts started selling their cookies yesterday and for the first time in my life i will be ordering cookies.....i mean wtf is so wrong with ordering cookies from them?

when i was in the second grade i came home and told my mother i was going to be a brownie (pre girl-scout).....she told me i couldn't because they make you salute the flag and they are patriotic. i was crushed, of course...the only kid in the class who couldn't be a brownie.....and back then, the little girls all wore their brownie dress on brownie meeting days, and there i was in civilian clothes.....no wonder i grew up to be such a loner.
as for the cookies, in my adulthood as a jw i bought them....ate them....and never thought twice about it. in fact i probably enjoyed it as a secret revenge.
i'm sure many of us still remember these times when the organization used to sell food at conventions.. i also remember that when this was stopped, the official reason was that the "brothers" were missing some of the program because of all the preparations.
typical watchtower "pretend we care" excuse.. i've wondered if there is another reason behind it, tied to perhaps finances or logistics that was the real deciding factor.
history and typical "modus operandi" of the society tells me that if there was some money to be made that way, they would not have stopped.. wonder if anybody has more info on this..

then people started going out to lunch and that was bbbaaaadddd......so the rule to bring your own and sit in your seat and eat. then they didn't like it if in the summer people went outdoors and picnicked in the grass or went to their car and ate properly refrigerated food.....so that had to go (remember smacks of the world - tailgating). sit in your dammm chair idiots and eat your dry peanut butter sandwich and drink your stale tepid soda and enjoy gratifying spiritual fellowship. and because your lunch is likely constipatory we don't have to worry about you leaving your seat for the loo during the program....or using too much tp.
last thursday i was propmpted by a recent thread to read the daily text (feb 28, 2013).
i then had the audacity to send a text message to all four jw's nephews/nieces (in their mid 20's).
i offered my opinion by summarizing it "put and shut up".
They tend to immediately go into defensive mode - its like an involuntary reaction........but years of having the rhetoric drummed into one has that effect. They lose the ability to approach anything they read with a clear objective mind - and they predetermine the material based on the messenger (their opinion of him, that is).
One's bliss should be well enough grounded to not be subject to crumbling at simply reading a different viewpoint from one's own. That is just ludicrous.

you read the title correctly.. my daughter is a prosecutor who right this moment is prosecuting a dui crash with major injuries.
the defendant--the drunk driver--just tried to place an awake magazine with her while both of them were in the courtroom.. .
if this dude was pulled in for a dui, why on earth would he be peddling his religion to the prosecutor, unless he was a total moron? i mean, if you get to court and jury, it is pretty much obvious you were guilty....so shouldn't a good dub be trying to hide his religion from negative press? this is just stupid beyond words. i thought they were supposed to be concerned with not putting the org in a bad light.....................

the book babylone the great has fallen god's kingdom rules, said people would leave the churches of christendom, in droves and the ministers would have no more people in their churches while "god's organization" would see a tremendous increase, a huge overflowing great crowd, all streaming into the watchtower and coming to the "faithful and discreet slave" for instructions.
thirty years ago there were six million jw's , today after the "great increase", and " great crowd" is now ?
well............the pope resigned....................that has got to have prophetic significance....(everyone is free to draw his/her own conclusion)
perhaps catholicism will end up in a radical disarry and all the pedophilia and misuse/abuse of funding will come to full disclosure.....
