  Please help me with the forum

  keeping a balance in what is allowed and what is not is very difficult and is more difficult if i have to take action against one person when i have let other things go by others.. it would help a lot if we could stop the personal attacks and some of the name calling & insults that are thrown about.

  i know personalities do and will clash but please disagree about the subjects being discussed and not get personal!.

  if you think someone is deliberately trying to cause arguments please do not respond to them as this is giving in to what they want.

  Simon,
  I don't like the idea of voting people off. I think it will hurt many people's feelings more than a personal attack. An example, let's say Yadirf posted that I should be voted off, and some agree with him, how would I react to that? My guess would be not very well. I think people should email you about their problem with somebody. You can send an email to the offender, and go from there. We all trust your judgement, and besides, it is your board. As a guest to your board, I don't think a group should tell you what to do with it and who should be allowed to post and who should not. That decision rests solely with you. But then again, what do I know.

  Hi Simon,
  I wanted to add my voice to the mix. I found Yadirf's comments to be getting worse all the time. Many of us warned him about his attitude, and you made a thread about deleting people a couple of days ago. He needed to clean up his act, but did not. His threats are empty at best. I don't care if someone has a different opinion then mine, but attacking me by calling me a "dumbass" was wrong. I was probably wrong by pointing out he was a liar, but calling me a "dumbass" was uncalled for. Thanks for keeping the board clean.

  Don't rely on Money for Retirement - W 8/15/01

  the three articles in the watchtower of 8/15/01 on the life of abraham take a real stretch of a biblical story in order to impose watchtower rules.

  on page 27, paragraph 8 the watchtower tries to make that point that many jws inflict themselves with many trials because they strive for material riches.

  that may be true but equally many face trials just trying to make a living or are trying to cope with retirement on a very limited income.

  we know that the above word has become one of the most used ones in the brooklyn vocabulary the last decade.

  almost everything in the watchtower organization has been simplified.. here is a very good idea for further simplifying.

  Memorial ultimatum

  i recieved this email and thought i'd share:.

  i heard a piece of gossip the other day from a friend in california that i thought was outrageous and right on par for the borg.... it seems a 20-something sister in a southern calafornia congregation has dedided she is one of the annointed much to the chagrin of her elder body.they have tried everything to disuade her from this path.in a last ditch effort to come up with arguments against her, the elders'wives were sic'd on her and they came up with a piece of information that they felt would be useful...it seems this sister is also pregnant with her first child and is very much looking forward to breast-feeding.so the brothers told her that if she wants to partake at the next memorial she can't breastfeed---because the wine would transfer to the milk and the baby is not annointed!this sister is heart-broken,she feels she must choose between her motherly obligation and her spiritual one!.the advice i passed on to her via my grape-vine was to think long and hard what decision she might make if for some reason her baby needed a life-saving blood transfusion...if the borg won't let her take a sip of wine it will surely not let her save her childs life with a transfusion!.

  I am surprised they don't offer the wine to the anointed on a "suggested donation" basis. You know, say the wine is worth at least fifty dollars. Ha ha, what they won't think of next.

  You have said you write the Society often, and tell them about "some pretty radical stuff for years." I have a question regarding that, has any of your "radical stuff" come true? How am I supposed to believe what you are saying now?
  I remember when the United States with other NATO forces liberated Kuwait, and some radical Jehovah's Witnesses went crazy over it. They were saying how that would start the end of the "system", but it did not. Nothing has changed, the "system" is still here.

  I have been reading along as people post their thoughts and well wishes. I wanted to say thanks. Last Thursday I spent most of the day crying, and I have not been in a very good mood since. I don't believe I need professional help, but I did want to get some support from here. I have noticed many of us have one thing in common, we have been hurt by the Society. That is something many of my new friends can't relate to. They can see I am in pain, but they have no idea how it is on the inside of the Orginization. Nor do they know that my dad took his life. One of my new friends thinks I am exadurating (SP?) how bad it is. I am tired of the mental abuse and I wish Jehovah's Witnesses would just go away and quit "helping" mankind. When I said before, "I HATE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES AND THE GOD THEY WORSHIP", I mean their version of God, not mine.
